honestly I think a Tier list for this game needs to be split in half. One for bug missions and the other for bot missions. Its just so wildly different

The only reason the anti-material rifle isn't S tier for me is how wonky the reticle is and the fact that the shot doesn't line up properly.

EMS Mortar deserves to be higher. Having one person bring an EMS Mortar makes so many missions a LOT easier because it can turn entire swarms into sitting ducks, making them easy to get rid of. Or you can just ignore the enemies because the mortar keeps shelling them and they get stun-locked for minutes. And it only slows you and you can get through the effect with 2-3 dives.

I don't know about everyone else, but I always carry a B1 backpack when I carry a grenade launcher. Especially when clearing nests and controlling a large number of enemies, you don't have time to find other ammo.

Flame Thrower: Because the only thing more pleasant than being mauled by a hunter is being mauled by a hunter that is also on fire.
The gas strike is very good for bug breaches. None of the chaff make it out alive and it's a 70 second cooldown.

Edit: Ok... ok... Supply pack at crap? Free stims, grenades and ammunition for you and your whole squad is crap? A supply level refresh for the guy using the recoilless is crap? And you like the grenade launcher but having 80 grenades for it is crap? You lost me there.

The ammo backpack combined with the grenade launcher is S Tier in my opinion. If you only take the grenade launcher alone, you have 20 grenades, (10 per clip and only two clips). But if you have the ammunition pack, you have 100 grenades for your launcher. PLUS 8 more hand grenades and 8 more STIMS. The ammo pack is quite viable. Also being able to give an ally more ammo in a clutch situation when the resupply is on cooldown is gold. I think people do not understand how incredible the ammo pack is.

I forced myself to play with orbital smoke and eagle smoke against automatons for dozens of hours just to see if there was any redeeming properties, and honestly it's become an absolute must have for me. I feel like putting smoke on yourself or the enemies temporarily cuts the difficulty in half.

The rail cannon does not one shot bile titans unless it’s a headshot which is rare

I disagree with flamethrower, it is more useful against terminids than the sniper is against robots. Orbital airbust is also S tier at closing bugholes. You get like 20x-30x kills and it has a very short cd. It can also take out hulks because of their larger weak spots.

To me, swarms of hunters are more of a threat than Bile Titans. So I prefer the rover over the shield backpack.

Eagle Cluster Bomb is my favorite airstrike. The AOE is massive and it mulches everything smaller than a charger. It can clean out entire objectives. I regularly get 10-20 kills with one use.
Most importantly, it has five charges! And then after re-arming for 2 minutes you get five more! It can blow up hordes all day.

The shield relay is GOATED, I just discovered that it's indestructable so when you drop it, the enemies will agro the sheild generator trying to destroy it. Let you get away or drop a statagem on that group of enemies. It can reflects the Bile Titan acid attack and kill him at close range. And the cooldown is super short. Yesterday I saw a Helldiver in my team used the shield relay with orbital barrage, he dropped the barrage on a bot base and just sit under the shield watching everything gets destroyed, it's quite fun.

I ran a Suicide with level 7s last night where the host equipped both smoke barrages - the orbital and the eagle. After that game, I will argue to the death that the smoke strategems should be considered *at least* A-tier, especially on bots. Too often I get killed on bots because my teammates cut and run from winnable fights (their cowardice is paramount to treason), leaving me to run through an open field while three rocket devastators lob barrages at me, or fight until another patrol spawns and I end up dying/overwhelmed. I actually find this to be one of the biggest problems with the game - the archetype of player that refuses to stand with his teammates and clear the easy drops/breaches/patrols. If you have ever seen those memes of 7 bile titans on the horizon, it is because of these types of players.

Smoke barrages, on the other hand, completely solve this issue. Defending a point? Throw the smoke at your feet and patrols will *NOT* notice you! Quick objective, then you get out, fire and move to the next one. Attacking an objective? Smokes to cover your advance combined with offensive strategems - it's a glorious sight to behold. Overwhelmed and your only option is to retreat completely? Set a smokescreen to fall back, find a chokepoint, then leap frog from cover to cover while you lay down covering fire for your team, or break LOS completely and cut and run to fight another day.

Helldivers, do *NOT* sleep on smoke barrages. That 7 I played with the random smoke guy was the most successful (and fun) drop I've ever played. We did every objective on the map, each got hundreds of kills, and escaped with almost 50 samples (I know we had at least 23 commons).

The resupply pack also refills, your stems and grenades Also, if your team doesn’t take the whole resupply you can put that in your backpack as well instead of letting it waste

How do have grenade launcher in S-tier and the supply backpack in crap? They have such great synergy

As a Level 50 player, the MG43 is great against bugs, cuts through almost all but the heaviest of bugs, in which other strategems can deal with.
Wish that the stalwart is better, but dealing with medium armored enemies is just annoying, especially Bile Spewers.
Plus, it is one of the fun weapons where your character will scream "FOR SUPER EARTH!"

Gunna say it - when the backpack was the only one I could use for the longest time, I felt like I contributed. I am a walking Ammo, Grenades, AND STIMS dispenser, with the ability to 2x resupply drops for all of my own needs

A lot of these things become 'meta' when its the only thing you have, lol
