I started out with nids as a pandemic project and after playing a few different style armies I have to say it's definitely like playing on hard mode. they put in some work but the threat that they represent in lore and the threat on the tabletop are 2 totally different things.

Tell me about it. My brothers Khorne army had enough fire power to melt most of the stuff I sent at him. Granted, what survived probably got scholarships to the Prometheus School of Running away from things on an Aragorn Badassary scholarship. I’ve had a full team of melee chaos marines and a havocs team empty their mags and melee into a single Tyranid Prime and he won.

That was how they used to be. Look at the 4th edition rules. Then ONE GUY lost ONE TOURNAMENT and decided to change them forever.

I remember 4th ed when you immediately replaced a destroyed gaunt unit back on the board at the beginning of your next turn. Honestly it was fun to play with and against, so naturally it was removed.

This is why I'm a hobbyist rather than a gamer, as far as 40k goes. I put money, time, love, and hard work into getting my army together and presentable, I don't want to have to build a collection that I don't enjoy looking at just because it's "Meta". GW can make any army OP or Total Garbage with a wave of their hands, because rules are just words. They can't make my army any more or less aesthetically pleasing no matter what they do. That's why I advise people to collect the army they like and not worry about the Meta unless they are certain that they are a hardcore tournament grinder.

I love this video so much! It's exactly how I've felt playing nids. People just laughing and rolling their dice as casually as possible and here I am desperately hoping at least half the dice are 4s.

I’m a Nid player been playing since 8th and it’s absolutely pathetic how bad these are compared to other armies now. Bringing out another supplement book before the 9th codex is pitiful from GW. I play with friends who run death guard and ultramarines. Love the social side of the day but being deleted off the board is painful.

It's weird that GW nerfs horde armies, like in an economical way it makes much more sense to have OP Nids because they cost more in terms of money.

I feel this on a deep level. I double fired my six hive guard into a 10 man transhumaned hell blaster squad with a master apothecary and Azreal standing next to them. I killed 1.5 hell blasters.

This is how my last game was. .. brought two full squads of barbgaunts. . . .20D6 shots plus 40 blast shots. . . Ran Invasion fleet to get Sustaining hits too

I'm primarily a Nid player and this is very true. Yes, casually you will win the odd game and for me, whilst I attempt to win, I don't care if I do; it's more that it is nice to have the potential to win, that if I lose its owing to my poor strategy or my opponent's skill rather than I was doomed to lose from the start. You know what I mean? Nidds should be the best melee army in 40k, backed up by ranged weapons, not depending on them.
