You are not talking too much! Your explanation of each game piece by piece is super helpful. And I love it when you get down to 1:00 or less and then say "I'm going to have to speed up a bit now" and then find a checkmate in four or five moves that you make in less than 11 seconds!

As a 57 yr old beginner to daily chess, I greatly appreciate your videos and live streams where you go over everything . I’m still struggling to not blunder but am having a blast

13:00 whats funny is, in lower ratings this stuff is so common which why people also struggle with just opening theory/studying some openings, they have to adept whats going on and I love that you show these games and explain your moves since thats so instructive! Others just punish mistakes without actually explaining why its bad or how you could go down the line with these type of positions, you're doing a great job Sir!

You are not playing too slow. To learn about your thinking process is very helpful for us beginners to improve :)

Best strategy: Take your time and your opponents get bored and resign LMAO

Keep talking! I love these videos and I’m stoked you brought this series back. I started playing chess in March and I’ve hit as high as 950. I find so much value in your channel and it is now at the top of my subs!

Time is also a chess piece. Nelson doesn't only takes time, beats on time, at 47:55 bores one with time, next he will break time!

Don’t change Nelson. I’m learning so much from you talking through your thought process. People should watch different channels if they just want to watch people playing. But I don’t know how much they’re going to get from it compared to your channel.

Nelson, your lessons are incredible. I was a chess novice, or a beginner I guess (435 rating) and I watched all your videos climbing up to this one right here. Just watched and learned and listened. I did not play a game in 4 weeks, just watched. At the end of this video I played a 450 rated player and won (using all the knowledge up to this point that you basically taught me). Then I played a 700 player and won that game too. Doing analysis on my first game, I had 87-something accuracy and no mistakes/no blunders. In the 2nd game against the 700 player I had no mistakes, one blunder, and one missed shot at a win. Don['t remember the accuracy rating, but I am gonna guess maybe 79ish? I don't know. All I know is that I love watching these climb videos and I devour them and am learning so much. I plan on going all the way to where you end up (2000ish?), just to learn and understand what goes through a master's mind at each level. You're the best, man. thank you for making my life so pleasant by truly teaching me by example and process.

Nelson, most of us are grateful for your in-depth explanations. If someone is bored, either they really don't want to learn, or they're a higher level. Either way they should watch a different series of your videos. This is for the early days...

Nelson, you are my new chess teacher. Your pace is perfect, and your explanations are abundantly clear. And in a calm manner, not frantic like some others.

Resigning because the opponent "takes too long" is so stupid 😅. I mean, sorry for using his 10 minutes? Play bullet if you want fast

Finally new climb rating videos!
Could you always explain the brilliant move? For example in 48:48?

Also, i have suggestion for opening Queen Gambit, King's indian defense, and Caro-kann?

Queen gambit is very interesting in lower elo and 1000+ elo. In lower elo they mostly accept the gambit and defense the pawn with the b5. It just funny.

I hate play as a black cause I have to follow(react) white ideas opening. However, King's indian always a good defense for black and i like it.

If i tired playing passive, i like to play caro-kann cause it is kinda aggressive.

Also, i wish you do some quick explanation for each opening that you will use so we could learn more about it. I know that it is easy just to check the internet, yea that's true but i just like the way you explain.

This is the most helpful series I've seen. 👍 Thanks so much for making it so detailed!

Hi Nelson, I think you do an extremely well job in doing your explanations for your moves and the opponent's moves. The time you take explaining is well spent. You are an excellent teacher.

Opening Suggestion:
White pieces > Queen's Gambit
Black Pieces > King's Indian Defence
(I've played alot of Queens gambit trough my climb to 1500 and for black I've always wanted to try the KID but I personally find it difficult to play so maybe you could help out explaining it a bit If it may occur, as always take care, hope you and your family is up well!

I have a question. In the First game (10:36): how about Qe4 instead of Nc3? That would fork the rook and the Bishop on e7, which would now be attacked twice. Simultaneously you'd be threatening Qxe7#

These lessons are by far the best resource I've found outside of playing to improve. That you actually go slow and explain your reasoning makes these videos exceptional. Love your content dude
