“I’ve been all over Vietnam-a place I feel a special connection to. Vietnam-my first love, is a place I still remain solid with and fascinated by. The food, culture, landscape and smell; they’re all inseparable. It just seemed like another planet; a delicious one that sort of sucked me in and never let go, ” said Anthony Bourdain. Your culinary legacy will live on forever. Thank you for everything.

Anthony Bourdain did not belong to us. He is/was an autonomous being in the universe. He followed his own life path, however painful it was for him and, less importantly, for us. He had his own inner life that was completely private and had nothing to do with the public. Our feelings about his suicide are our feelings, not his.

I’m still coming to terms with this immeasurable and significant loss. Had I the chance to meet him, I’d like to think I would have made an impression on him and that maybe he’d still be with us.

I'm alone. I see Anthony Bourdain, famous, surrounded with family and friends and coworkers, and I just wish I could've met him and somehow pull him out of his funk, but I guess it's not that easy. It kills me that he's gone.

The fact I'm on YouTube today shows how influential he is. Still in tears, thought I could handle watching these reactions months later. Suicide is horrible.

A tragic loss of a passionate, intelligent, human being who was able to see things others take for granted. He took Champix, a smoking cessation drug which has been investigated for causing psychological issues including suicidal thoughts/suicide. I hope the media will be responsible in this instance, and with other suicides, to report and educate on mental health issues.

How could u speak so callously? He was a human being, just like u & I, with flaws, strength & weakness. The shocking surprise of his unexpected death is a blow to us who loved his authentic character & his life's work. BUT... who's to say it shudn't have ended this way? His life, mind-body-heart & soul is his & his alone, a God given. Personaly, I can only bow w/ acceptance to the mystifying effect of life & death. I see yhe hurt i your eyes, I'm hurting too. Look to the heavens my friend & carry on. You have a God given gift too -- yourself, your life & all that is yours alone to decide.

Hey Tim,
Love the video. Thank you for your insight and your thoughtfulness. Tony was a special guy and I’ll miss him until I leave this Earth... Along with my grandmother and my last pet cat, Lucifer.

Jesus says that without Him we can do nothing...eventually all our own efforts, talents, travel, friends etc will not fill the void in each man's heart that only God can fill.
