Let's learn how to use the Query function in Google Sheets Combine Data from Multiple Sheets Multiple Criteria.

The Query function is one of the most powerful functions available in Google Sheets.
You can use it to combine data from multiple sheets. You can also use it to choose a subset of the combined data meeting certain criteria.

On this first sheet here, I have some partial data containing sales data for sales representatives belonging to different regions, along with the dates and the number of units sold. On the second sheet, I have copied the data and changed only the first item so that you know the data is coming from this sheet when I combine it.

If you remember, in a previous video, I showed you how you can combine data by using the array notation using curly braces and providing semicolons to indicate that the data from the different sources needs to be placed in different rows.

But you’d want your combined sheet to be dynamically updated to reflect any changes in the data in your source sheets. That’s where the query function comes in.

Let’s first look at a basic application of the query function.

We’ll use our previous array notation but this time place it inside the query function.

This works but whenever your data gets updated, it's a problem. The updated data won't show up.
