Now think about all the devices that listen to you currently. Alexia's, phones, google, etc.

Yeah. We are doomed. Imagine a news broadcast or an announcement that plummets stocks or starts wars

We've had a "safe word" since my Son was old enough to understand & speak. He's 26yo now & we STILL have a safe word AND phrase. You wouldn't believe the number of times they have been necessary &/or have come in handy over the years, from lost house keys/phones, to creepy dudes trying to get him in a car ON SCHOOL PROPERTY, to being home alone as a teen & only opening the door for those that know the right word/phrase.. Make them something you & your kids will remember - attached to a great memory works best, and something that NO ONE else can ever guess. Also, don't do it over the phone, computer, write it down, etc. Don't share it with ANYONE, not even law enforcement!Do mini practice sessions to keep it fresh & change it up after any use. Be safe out there- you truly NEVER know what can jatin the most normal seeming situation. Better safe than sorry!

“Calls will be monitored for training purposes” has a whole new consideration…

I got the exact same phone call. I immediately knew it wasn’t my daughter and told him, how did you get Diana? He said Diana was at work. (Of course Diana is not her name.). I started laughing at him and told him to keep her. The phone call got traced from Mexico. I posted it on Facebook so others wouldn’t fall for it.

Kinda scary to see how this could be used to frame somebody into horrible position. Won't be long till voice recordings in court are worthless, same with video footage. The more I think about this, the more this feels like opening a box of worms lol

My elderly uncle recently got scammed out of $15k by this! He swore it was my nephew begging for help after (supposedly) being in an accident and not wanting to tell his parents.

Scary stuff!!

They did this to my grandmother it was my voice saying i was in jail and needed 10, 000 dollars. Well my dad called me and asked why i was trying to extort 10, 000 dollars for bail money. One of the craziest things ive ever had happen

I do believe the phone companies have already sold us out on this one. I had a phone call last fall, and before I could finish the call with my trademark "Thanks, have a great day!", MY OWN VOICE SAID IT FOR ME! and the other party said you too and hung up. I didn't say it this call yet. I called the other party right back and let them know about it. CREEPY! That was a Verizon cell phone. So yeah, already recorded, and trained, and probably sold to the highest bidder.

Reminds me of Terminator when Sean Connery gets a call from his mother. But it's not her.

That’s why I erased my personal voice from the greeting of the voicemail at my phone. I just let the automated voice to answer.

This existed years ago called LyreBird, but it got incorporated into video editing software to replace words

Same exact thing happened to me. Even put the “crying girl” back on the phone. Called back when i hung up and said she was dead. Couldnt get a hold of her dad because he had me blocked since we were divorcing. 911 dispatch contacted him, she was safe at home. Anyways i had three daughters at that time and it sounded exactly like my oldest.

In Australia when you call the Tax office or another High government office you literally have to say over tue phone "In Australia my voice identifies me". And it has been like that for several years now. So of they have been doing that for 5+ years at a governmental level imagine what tech they are actually holding back from us. WE ARE SO FUCKING FUCKED!

In South America those are called “virtual kidnapping” and are extremely common. You get a call of a person in distress, in the middle of the night to insure you are not 100% sharp, they rattle you and make you drop cash in a specific spot. Lots of people fall for this. A safe word is necessary.

And this is exactly why all of my children have innocuous tracking devices on them. My kids know what they are but no one else does. I don't follow them step by step... They're late somewhere then I do check and see where they are.
