This is one of the many books that I recommended to a subscriber that had asked me for some resources to review probability. It had everything, or just about everything that he wanted in a book. It's a very good book, but it is not perfect by any means. I have no doubt that any student tasked with reading this book will be able to learn probability. The main downside to this book is that it has no solutions to the exercises. Other than that, it has pretty much everything that a student would want from a first course in probability. As far as prerequisites, Calculus III should do it. It is definitely targeted towards upper undergraduates as it does discuss some serious math such as set theory, differential equations, difference equations, etc.

The link to R I find especially useful. I noticed that there are some solutions to the exercises. Those marked with a circled S have detailed solutions on the website accompanying the book. I think I will buy this one.

I love Applied Statistics & Probability for Engineers by Runger & Montgomery. Easy to read and plenty of exercises. The solution manual is also available, which helps alot.

Hey !!! Can you suggest a book on statistics as well, since I'm an Electrical Engineering major, I would prefer a book which is more straight to the point and also covering almost all the necessary topics.

I went through Blitzstein's lectures on youtube and they were great. In undergrad I had Probability out of Schaffer, and in grad school, I had it out of Baclawski (didn't like it).

Can you recommend a statistic and probability book which has a lot of practice problems with solution. I am preparing for entrance of a masters course. Topics are probability theory, , probability distribution and statistical inference
