I like to imagine that when Austin is half-sedated, he starts telling the hospital staff about public domain superheroes

"Just bad enough to where you feel terrible all the time, but just well enough where they aren't going to do anything about it" is the most relatable thing ever. I've suffered from chronic pain since early high school, but since it was mild, and because I was a "dumb teenager who doesn't know anything and over-exaggerates", I never got treated or diagnosed for it. Now that I'm in my early 20s, and I went straight to a specialist, they actually seemed to take me more seriously. I'm actually getting an xray done for it today.

I was just wondering about this.

Don't lose hope, man.
I'm terribly sorry my useless ass can't do more, but I want you to know that your struggle doesn't go unnoticed and we're all rooting for you.

I recently had a scope for my gastrointestinal issues, and it was incredibly stressful. I can't imagine how much worse yours was

My dad had an aortic aneurysm 8 years ago. He had 3 open heart surgeries and survived. It’s a hard thing to go through. I hope you get the treatment you need Austin. 😁

I recently had a colonoscopy. Same basic set up as yours...different door. Thank goodness for anesthesia that causes no memory. Man...I do hope that the doctors are able to get your heart repaired soon. And your making your little corner of life a bit better than you found it is great. Sharing it with us is a gift. Thank you.

`Don't know if anyone needs to hear it` often this is the message I need to hear. Thanks for all you've done / continue to do Austin. Truely appreciate the work and effort sir...

Austin, my daughter just showed me your video. I work in the medical device space, specifically in heart failure, and I consult for a company that makes a non-surgical treatment for AR. Also, I worked with left ventricular assist devices for HF since 2004 and so maybe I can answer any questions you have or be of some help.

Was just in the hospital and had an NG tube shoved down my nose/esophagus to suck out the contents of my stomach. The worst experience of my life. I feel for you brother. I hope you pull through.

My partner has Marfan Syndrome, which is a cousin condition to my own Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. One of the common complications for his condition is aortic bisection, and I worry about his heart every day. I'm so glad you're able to get healthcare, and I hope your heart surgery can happen soon.

Austin, you and your channel are a huge inspiration to me. Just want you to know that no matter what happens, you've significantly, positively impacted many people. Well, at least one person I can attest to :) Thanks a lot. Hope you get a successful surgery soon.

My brain filled in a comma in the title and completely changed the context of the video

Had an endoscopy yesterday and getting one tomorrow. Needed to see this! It was both funny and calming. You are making this anxious patient a little less anxious. Thanks, Austin.

My dad has been in heart failure since he was 40 (yay genetics and chronic kidney disease..); he's 68 now. It is exhaustingly slow and it is terrifying as hell. It's also a topic I don't think many know a lot about, so thank you for sharing your experiences.
