It would be nice to just have a big graphic that shows which color drift stone is best for each piece of equipment.

Thanks for the video. I did mishear at 0:10 - initally thought you said the endgame was when you STOPPED farming for WGS. Haha

Hope suddenly they add a function that let us trade habilities between our armors, maybe something like MT's in Pkm go. Or at least reduce the time to forge in the driftsmelting, 5 km seems a little to much in my opinion

We should take it easy on driftstones. Play like they were never exist. Upgrade your weapons to the max. It's already hard enough to max a weapon, even harder if you want to build all necessary elemental weapons. Make the armors and after all of those hard grinds, you can jump into drift smelting shenanigans. IMHO. I just don't care if i got a bad skill from the smelting. Already slaying 10* mons without them.

Note: you can slay 9-10* monsters using max meta build which is elemental weapons. Driftstones skills just make it a lil bit easier. BUT YOU NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR WEAPON, PEOPLE.

My 3 best drifsmelts so far are: jagras chest - weakness exploit, girros legs - para attack & radobahn helm - offensive guard.
Having really bad luck on most others like the element ones

Another advice: stock up on sharp claws and wingdrake hide. You'll want them to craft the new weapons and armors. They aren't hard to get, but it's always nice to have them in advance.

better focus on farm for WGS.. thats the priority.. not to forget complete event quest..collect driftsmelt gem is an optional..

Wish they add a trading house that let hunter trade item between players for the same rarity and let in person trading. This problem is why the game hasn't skyrocketed yet because of limited interaction between real life and online gameplay

It's also worth noting taking most armor pieces from 6.1 to 8.1 costs 39k zenny. That really adds up.
So poor now.

With regard to upgrading weapon, if they keep the trend of special Monsters like zinogre and 🥒 in the future. We end up just using wgs on Armors since these monsters has their own red mats..

Driftsmelt is way more efficient than upgrading weapons, so it's odd to see so many people still standing by weapons as being the best use of wgs. 8 wgs will get your weapon to 8.4, that's enough to driftsmelt 4 pieces. For something standard like c pukei weapon that's 326 attack/element difference. Let's use my C. pukei lance as an example, 4 driftsmelt slots would allow me to drop jya chest for barroth chest, and then craft 3 more offensive guard. That's 5 offensive guard which gives me an average of just 80 less damage, but also the driftsmelts will have random stats and I have way more armor. you can farm 8 stars at 7.5 element 5 no problem and taking less damage is way more important than being able to move on to 9 star monsters. This difference becomes even better for driftsmelt as you move up to tier 8.5 or if you are using a weapon with more raw like azure rath.

Interesting topics.
I will discuss why I disagree with your reason number #1.
I'll also discuss why I also agree with option one.

First, let's start with the agreement part.
IF you're not a launch player (player that started when game dropped), yes.
You may want to prioritize dmg in that case so you can pull your weight with the rest.

Now for the disagreement that I've come to. I've had time to think it throughly.
The 1st dragon we get is weak to Thunder/Dragon.
The Zenogre and Devil Jho both have their own R6 item. That being said. They both carry weapons that will handle the kushala.
That in my mind tells me " my wgs can be spent to unlock extra skill slot "
Thought I'd share my thoughts.
Happy Hunting!

Upgrade your weapon to 9, then select armor to 8. You can kill everything with upgradable material.

Yes that was my way to play I only upgraded weapon as I can. E stronger to killing them faster then waste it on my armor. As it's hard to wyvern gem 💎 already do whatever you do double it with small knives.
