"It insists upon itself"

Ever since I saw this episode I've used this phrase to make it sound like I know what I'm talking about.

this is like the only time lois actually acknowledges that stewie is talking

I like how Peters speaking like an actual somewhat intelligent adult here

The strength in Chris's voice when he yells "Robert Duvall!" is what sends me

"The Godfather insists upon itself" is one of the most powerful statements Peter's ever made

What I love about this scene is that it doesn’t feel like a tv show. The characters stutter and interrupt each other, it’s realistic, but also not overdone. it’s perfect.

“i like that movie too”

this line is my favorite part of this scene. having chris say it after being the most aggressive about peter not liking the godfather is a stroke of comedic genius

He said he tried watching it 3 times that definitely is giving it a chance. Peter is completely justified.

I love how chris sounds the most irritated.

This feels like a very real conversation. It makes me think one of the writers actually feels this way and had had these sorts of conversations before in real life.

This conversation is so well written that it makes you forget that Meg isn’t even in the same room.

Those billionaires on that submarine right now

This whole conversation is so bloody natural and feels so real, the way they interrupt each other, somewhat ignore each others points; I want more movies like this.

The one thing Family Guy excels at is making situations and conversations look and sound genuine. The stutters and passive aggressive responses to one another makes this feel like a real conversation lol.

This literally encompasses every movie argument ever. You have the person who first initiates with an unpopular opinion (Peter). Then you have two people stumbling over each other, both who disagree with the opinion. One (Chris) who is religiously in love with the movie and another (Lois) who needs to prove the opinion wrong in any way possible. Then you have the neutral bystander (Brian) who asks relevant questions to understand why this person has an opinion, and then someone who ocassionally brings up a good point (Stewie). Then you have the person who completely blanked out the argument (Meg).

I love how by the time Stewie chips in and is understood, you're so involved in the discussion just as an audience member you almost don't even realize, "...wait a minute, Lois understood Stewie?!"

This is one of those scenes where they try to play the characters off as actors that have just broken character to give genuine articulation and it's gold.

I like how Brian isn't trying to argue with Peter and just wants to hear why he didn't like it.

"I do not care for safety regulations in submarine construction. They insist upon themselves."

This is so realistic of a hot take. Peter's not even hating on the movie, he just says he didn't like it like other people did.
