As much as I did like Across the Spiderverse, it did have some glaring flaws like how they all blame Miles for causing new trouble, despite The Spot obviously continuing the problems, how so many Spideys have fallen for Miguel's whole "Needs of many" including Spectacular (When even Greg Weissman didn't like that and should have been asked first instead of the writers just assuming) that they kinda look like idiots, and how it feels sorta like a poorly executed argument.

I wouldn't be as bugged if in the sequel, they end up doing a whole reveal that the Spider Society and Miguel were all puppets to The Superior Spider Man, who wants to rule the multiverse in order to pretend to be the greatest hero to stroke his own ego.

Although I do love how Spider-Punk was depicted, that guy was too awesome.

I mean Peter (Griffin) is right, no spider-man worth their salt would let someone ELSE die for the sake of the multiverse, not to mention Peter (Parker) is one of the smartest heroes ever, he'd be the first to point out that a Multiverse by definition cannot have a "Canon event" per universe and Multiverse means: Infinite universe, and therefore infinite possibilities. Miguel is an idiot.

The thing is, I think most spider-people would side with Miguel for two reasons. The first is that, with the information they have, letting some people die to save the majority is the most ethical choice. It would be selfish to choose those you care about over the lives of billions, and ultimately an actual hero can’t make that selfish of a choice. The second is that it justifies the pain they’ve gone through, making it seem like a thing which ultimately helps others.

Pretty sure the whole point is that Miguel somehow managed to dupe hundreds of people into thinking the things they all have in common are evidence of pre-determined fate that would ruin the multiverse if meddled with.

My issue with Across the Spiderverse is that I feel like I only got half of a story. It’s not a complete movie that ends on a cliffhanger, it’s literally just the setup portion of one movie. It’s really GOOD setup, but it’s still just setup lol.
