Lots of respect for JJ here. He hates Spider-Man but immediately realized that he was wrong. No humorous jokes, he immediately fired Eddie Brock and swallow his pride.

Another thing you can see here is that in the newspaper "Faker Fired", Jameson actually apologises to the public and even Spider-Man for Eddie's bs regarding Spider-Man. Just goes to show that even though Jameson hates Spider-Man, he has lines that he will not cross and he really takes his rules and morals seriously

Even though Peter is possessed by evil incarnate that’s supposed to exacerbate the host’s rage and aggression, you can clearly see just how good a person at heart he is. Everything he does in this scene is entirely reasonable and justified. Also, “I’m gonna put some dirt in your eye” is just hilarious. I’d argue everything he does, up until he starts dancing in that idiotic suit, is actually healthy. He just chooses to grow a spine and it actually improves his life. He clears Spider-Man’s name, gets Eddie deservedly tossed out on his ass, calls Jameson’s bluff and actually starts extracting a decent salary, makes it clear that he’s finally done being Harry’s punching bag, and withholds rent from his landlord (an entirely legal action given his landlord’s consistent failure to fix the door). In other words, growing a spine was healthy for him and I was genuinely on his side here.
