I went into Filmrise after you mentioned it here. After a bit of digging I discovered my favorite British TV show of all time. Heartbeat. It has never aired in the states and BritBox only has season one and the final season. Filmrise has seasons 2 through 9. It's a Quirky cop/doctor show set in a small town on the moors in the late 60s. Well worth checking out if for nothing else but the music. The first episode they have has Urban Spaceman - Bonzo Dog Band, Strange Brew -Cream, The original version of The First Cut Is The Deepest, and to cap it off The BBC Sessions version of Money by The Beatles. It is a very strong entry into anyone's watch list.

If you have Roku - here is three things you need to do: 1) Download Kanopy app (it connects to your local library) for 10 free movies a month 2) Hoopla (similar to Kanopy) 10 free movies month. My library connects with both apps so I get 20 free movies month. 3) buy external hard drive and rip your DVD onto it. My Roku 3 has USB port that I plug external hard drive into. Then I just use Roku Media Player app to access my entire movie collection. I am also watch Youtube and big podcast listener. I cut the cord 4 years ago and literally have too much free legal content to consume.

Stirr has too many commercials and after them, there's a "we'll be right back" screen that runs for about 15 seconds before what you were watching comes back on. I like the content but too troublesome to watch.

Nothing you covered rocked my boat. Not into commercial supported programming. You need to go over apps like EMBY and PLEX.

I like Darkroom. There is a Kurosawa film, Stray Dog, that I think is just amazing, the best things he's ever done. And lots and lots of interesting foreign films. Serpent Stone, and The Waiter are two.

I love having Roku but I don’t like the miss leading information in the sky’s giving I tried Classix and I can’t watch a movie without being interrupted every six minutes with commercials it’s very irritating I am not going to use these apps and stick to just Roku for now.
