The damage and scarring on that granite wall is something I’d love to see you do a piece on Matt now that you’ve seen it in person. From my lay stand point it looks like a tremendous amount of force would be needed to achieve the sort of damage. And it’s probably the most overlooked element in the Kings chamber in my opinion.

What on earth is that round drilled hole under the plastic grating? The blackening and scarring around the square entrance to the shats is probably the result of all those people messing around with it after it was discovered.

what amazes me is that if someone from the time of Christ walked around the king's chamber, the room was already at least 2500 years old. Can you imagine anything modern engineering has built remaining so well preserved?

Was that small shaft with the grate over it one of the shafts that was made later as in late 1800s or early 1900snto.relieve the humidity levels?
