Great Pyramid BIG VOID: New 2023 Update | Ancient Architects

Announced to the world in 2017, the Great Pyramid Big Void is one of the most fascinating archaeological discoveries of the modern era, and on finding out some new information about it this week, it’s time to revisit the subject once again.

For decades many of us have wanted to know if there are any hidden chambers or passageways inside the Great Pyramid and although there are some clues in the stonework that still need investigating, as well as some anomalies recorded in geophysical surveys, a new, major inner structure has not been found inside the Great Pyramid since the 19th century.

But that was before the year 2016, because now, thanks to a state-of-the-art technique called muography, scientists from the ScanPyramids Project have discovered a Small Void and a Big Void have.

But since there discovery, we haven't heard a great deal, so what's happening? Do we know anything more? Well, the size and shape of the Big Void has been refined and in this video I'll reveal what the experts believe the Big Void could look like.

There are two voids in Egypt: one in a pyramid and one in Hawas' integrity.

From a structural engineering standpoint, placing voids above other voids reduces the pressure on the lower voids. They were also shaped in such a way as to divert the downward forces away from the lower voids. It is rarely done today because we don't build solid stone structures. By the time the Great Pyramid was built, there is a good chance this technique was known by the architects.

Zahi Hawass: No, there is no void in the pyramid. There's not even a pyramid, what are you guys talking about?

The hypothesis that the Grand Gallery is a counterweight track is by far the most compelling and makes a lot of sense that the void is also a counterweight track used to help lift the massive 70 ton blocks situated over the top of the kings chamber. It will be exciting when the day comes when the authorities decide to investigate…

I'm glad that you brought up the air shafts as I've been wondering if they could be used for further muon studies without blocking public access. They would likely need a new method for deploying and recovering detector plates, but this should be achievable.

I'm very pleased that there are channels like yours and others that are covering such research with the scientific objectivity it deserves and which appears to be declining amongst the general public. Thank you.

Matt, your videos are so wonderful. They are entertaining, informative, well thought out, and the content isn’t packaged this well anywhere else at all. You are doing a genuine service to the field. Thank you!

How "unusual" that Egyptologists show resistance to a new discovery or theory on their field... What a surprise! :P

I think I'd rather trust a muography expert talking about a void than an Egyptologist (particularly Zawi Hawass) casting shade on the science of muography.

Fantastic stuff, Matt! Thank you so much for bringing us this fascinating update. The Great Pyramid and its mysteries are endlessly enthralling, and millions of people like you, me and most of those watching your videos are hungry for the truth about it. The answers are painfully slow to arrive sometimes, but they never fail to excite when they do!

I don't understand the mentality of the Egyptian archaeologists? This could be the greatest discovery and given modern technology a small probe could go to that area with minimal not to do this

Very interesting. A scan for a possible passageway from the new entry shaft would be worth it since it might provide a least invasive option for reaching the passageway. Another thing is an endoscope into the big void to see whats there, only using a drill hole if necessary. That would determine if anything is in there. If nothing is found there, then there is no point in a larger tunnel for entry by people. But if it turns out thats the real burial chamber of Khufu, then a small tunnel could be looked at.

Since I first ever seen this void years ago I have allways thought that this area is the exact area that Jean Pierre Houdin told us of the men controlling the Counterweight ropes as to lift the Kings Chamber roof beams. It's all on same level as the KC roof.

Whatever’s in there will be in the same state to whoever first opened the queen and kings chamber thousands of years ago, it really is fascinating, like a time capsule waiting to be opened.

Great stuff Matt! Thank you for your continued research for our benefit.

Oh at last, a Void Update!
Why do these pyramid experts have to move so painfully slowly in these matters?! It's not as if history has a cutoff point dividing then from now. Can they really not drill a tiny millimetres-wide hole into this chamber. I'm sure they could if they wanted to. And they SHOULD want to. That's my viewpoint!!

Thanks for the update Matt. As usual, your presentation and information are welcome. If the new large chambers are not accessible from the new void discovered behind the north face chevrons, how else could it be accessible? Gaining access to it without destroying portions of the interior are not going to be welcome by the minister of antiquities. Still, the solution HAS to be there. The lintel block to the right of the sarcophagus in the kings chamber? Seems like the highest accessible point. Or possibly through the relieving chambers? Although those areas do not seem like there was an intent for usage so much as function. If the new chambers are indeed ceremonial or serve a purpose other than as a remnant construction mechanism, there has to have been an exit/access for them. Have they put muon detectors IN the kings chamber yet? It would make sense to scan the voids from the closest possible location. Also, along the same rational, I’ve never read or seen it addressed as to why there are no higher chambers in Khafre’s pyramid. I know that the earlier scans didn’t show anything (function of lower resolution and limitation of the detectors at the time?) but it appears to be counter intuitive to suggest that they would have built such a huge structure for such a small utility of space. There almost HAS to be something else in that structure. The Great Pyramid differs greatly from anything else. If the two largest pyramids at Giza were developed and constructed in subsequent generations of pharaohs, there should be some continuity in the design and function. I get excited every time you post something new on this channel Matt. You keep studying and bringing details to the public that are absolutely fascinating and inspiring!! Thanks for everything that you do!!
