My favorite description of this video and the dancing I've seen in YT comments has to be "2 dads get roped into doing TikTok dances with their daughters" Hahaha

2:15 Babymetal is actually not a typical girl group, it's a Metal band.

I think the story of the video begins with Electric Callboy barging into the record executives' meeting and essentially telling them they're going to make it happen. By "make it happen, " I mean collaborating with Babymetal. Then, the next thing you know, Electric Callboy bursts into a karaoke barroom where Babymetal is performing karaoke. Finally, Babymetal follows Electric Callboy, and they do the collaboration together, where they're dancing, etc.

Babymetal - The pioneers of "Kawaii Metal": J-pop/metal idol group that has music that spans lots of metal genres (power, nu, core, prog, etc), but also global non-metal genres (rap, trap, pop, bollywood, ska, etc). Despite their young age, they are seasoned vets (around for nearly 15 years now), starting when they were kids.

Electric Callboy - German metal group who typically fuse different electronic genres into metal, with tons of humor.

It was a perfect match, and both are amazingly unique artists in their own rights, I would recommend diving into both, tbh.

My recommendations for each to ease your start in and give you a good feel for what they are (before getting to the REALLY unique stuff) would be:
EC - "We Got the Moves"
Babymetal - "Megitsune" (I would recommend a recent live version)

Germany and Japan haven't had such a great collaboration since... Well this was great!

They performed this live twice at FOX_FEST in Tokyo this past weekend and I got to see it live and it was absolutely fucking awesome. The crowd went absolutely nuts and both groups were having a blast performing together.

The style of the song is more electric callboy, but its a 50/50 collab bewteen both. Baby metal sound similar, a bit heavier on their own.
This is such a great collab they compliment each other perfectly.

Welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🤘🔥
Interesting you already know what is kawaii, since the genre BM created is called kawaii metal.
Here's a brief info about this Japanese group:

BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.

There's no other group like them around and teaming up with this group from Germany just elevated them even higher.
If you like Jpop and edm elements then you gonna find a lot of cool songs blended with heavy metal in their latest album "The Other One" released last year. Songs like Divine Attack - Shingeki, METALIZM, Time Wave and Light and Darkness among other great songs as well tracks and live performance from early era will make you bounce and rock with this amazing group.

Last weekend they did the live premiere of this song in Japan at FOX_FEST (a festival held by BM) and everyone went wild with this collab.
The girl in the middle is the lead singer SuMetal and she actually dance less than the other girls (MoaMetal and MomoMetal) because she sings most of the time but regardless she can dance and sing and you won't even notice she's out of breath.

About this song:
This was filmed in Germany and the concept of the MV is they're breaking boundaries with the genres and they don't care about corporation decisions, the office with the suits workers and the Japanese boss kinda represent that.
The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference.
The "Fu Fu" (or more like "wu-uh wu-uh") part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus and also I think I heard in a K-pop song, not sure which one.
The "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with some guitar elements.
The moment when they're breaking the wall is another homage to Aerosmith x Run DMC - Walk This Way MV, symbolism of breaking the boundaries with the music genres like already said.
Btw I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that in the MV, although fans spotted in the live version, so it was her after all.
Love the euro dance and trance elements mixed with metal, they also did it with Time Wave, one of my favorite BM song from latest album The Other One.
There's probably more references but I'm so far away from pop culture that i probably missing a lot more.

Next suggestion:
- Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV

I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get more proshot clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it.
See you next time 🦊🤘🐭

Just so you know, you actually did react to Babymetal, the song was called: Road of Resistance, but that was 2 years ago.

BABYMETAL's sound is incredibly diverse. For BABYMETAL, I would suggest recent live performances of their songs Road of Resistance, Monochrome, and Megitsune form their PIA Arena 2023 concerts.

You should dig into both bands. They both are known for mashing other genres with metal and for making metal fun. Electric Callboy is more intentionally comedic (especially the videos) while BabyMetal is 'Kawaii' and has upbeat, feel-good lyrics. BabyMetal is Japanese and Electric Callboy is German. 🤘🦊🤘
