In this video I share with you a method to unlock undervolting in most Intel Laptops 11th gen and older. Whereas this method doesnt unlock undervolting in 12th gen, it does however unlock Turbo Ratio Limits which can facilitate fantastic temperarature reductions!

the values for my computer were as follows
Overclocking lock 0x660
cfglock 0x5C4

commanders were as follows
Setup 0x660 0x0
Setup 0x5C4 0x0

worked perfect!!!

hopefully this helps some people because i found the 9th gen cpu's a little harder to configure. good luck everyone!

Worked perfectly on a Lenovo M920q with an i7-9700T. Just to notice: The memory size in the Universal Bios Backup Toolkit is not the RAM but the ROM size (= size of the BIOS file). Thanks for this great tutorial!

Anyone with older CPU example 8th Gen and down if you get stuck in the UEFI Image and can't find any numbers, its a very simple fix, when you use Universal Bios ToolKit instead of choosing 8GB Ram always choose 16GB even if you have only 8GB and it will work to search and find the CPU lock.

I have tested with 8GB and it never found anything and then i tested with picking 16GB instead and it directly works i have tested on i5 8300h and i5 6700h and i5 7300hq and it works everytime doing it like this.

Now undervolt works!
Dell 5290 2-in-1 tablet, CPU - Intel 8250u, BIOS from August 2023.
I started simply by trying a step-by-step downgrade, then try to restoring the BIOS via Esc + Ctrl, nothing worked, but now the undervolt has worked!
I did -110 mV and got 14 watts instead of 18 watts at the same frequencies

11300H here with insyde F.21, was only able to unlock the Turbo Ratio Limits, but that's something at least, first thing I come across that's helped me advance in any way and it's a lot of freedom compared to limiting TDP, thanks a lot mate!

done, just in case make sure you dont close the code line with command "exit" because changes will not be saved, just restart the computer after you finish with commands.And make sure you format your portable disk like the video shows.Extra tip for dumb people like me, in asus bios you have to scroll down to find secure boot(took me 10minutes to find out)

Thanks man, finally able to play games without thermal throttling. BTW, I have an i5 9300H, "CpuSetup" worked for me instead of "Setup" when typing the grub commands, might be of help to those struggling with 9th gen
