I love this psalm because it is so descriptive of our relationship with God. And how very much He must love us that He continues to forgive our rebellion & sin when we confess it to Him. I often think about what really bad children the Israelites were because they constantly sinned against God. But here I am - just like them ! This is all so relatable to my own relationship with God. And yet, I am humbled and ashamed that I still sin even though I know this hurts the heart of God. Brings to mind what Paul says in Romans. I do the very thing I do not want to do and the good I want to do, I don't do. And yet, He loves me. ❤

I soooo struggle with my tongue. "David is careful about how and when he talks about his struggles because he doesn't want to leave a bad impression about God on people who don't know God. He complains in private to God, the only one who can solve them." "What we say matters, but who we say it to also matters." This is something I really needed to be reminded of. I hope I can keep it in the front of my mind daily and apply it to my life.

What we say matters, but who we say it to also matters. We can always take our thoughts and prayers to God. He wants to hear from us and He already knows anyway. So why not talk to our Abba Father?

"God loves us too much to let us continue in idolatry, so sometimes he takes away our idols. We knit little cashmere scarves for all our idols, and God sends his little love moths to eat them to pieces!" 😂👍 That's a perfect way of explaining Psalm 39:11, Tara-Leigh, thanks!

When I read Psalms‬ ‭36‬:‭5‬-‭6‬, I can’t help but sing the Third Day song, ‘Your Love Oh Lord.’ “Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.”

I really love psalm 36:9
For with You is the fountain of life in Your light we see light. When I feel consumed in my own failures and tribulations this psalm truly speaks to me.🙏🏼❤️

Such a good reading today. My God-Shot came out of psalm 33, verses four and five. We do serve a righteous and just God, who is upright and faithful. God is good!

Psalms 36:7-8: How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house and you give them drink from the river of your delights. 🎉 ❤

Lord, may I glorify you with every word I say today and every day. Teach me to trust You so that I may delight in You. TLC's Godshot really got me today - I truly don't trust the Lord as I should and want to - so of course I can't delight in Him! 😮

I’m so blessed to have a friend in Jesus. He calls me to Himself, He rescues me, He saves me, He teaches me, I can talk with Him. Love this verse:
“The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭25‬:‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Reminds me of this verse spoken by our Lord:
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

David covers are wide variety of emotion in these Psalms.
Psalm 125- opens with praise and closes with a request.
Verse 8 God’s goodness and uprightness does not keep Him from sinners, it draws Him to sinners-wow. We all need Him.
David humbles himself and asks for forgiveness for God’s name sake
When God pardon sinners it shows His character as loving, patient and merciful.
Verse 14 the friendship ( and secrets ) of the Lord is for those who fear Him. Yes Lord we want that!
Psalm 29- God is portrayed as a thunderstorm. God can be powerful and peaceful at once.
Psalm 33- praising is fitting for the righteous. When I fail to praise Him I am going against my created purpose.
Gods eye is on those who fear Him. Thank you Father for your loving watch over me.
Psalm 36-the wicked, those who think of themselves too highly. Those who have lied. Those who have planned to sin. The wicked is a person who follows a pattern to sin. One who has given them self over to sin.
Christ followers are people who are for God and who sometimes sin. However, we are not defined by sin. In fact, God calls us the righteous! Jesus righteousness has been transferred to us despite our sin.
Psalm 39- David asks God to bring an end to his discipline. God’s hand is heavy and David feels like he has learned his lesson. David is also careful about how he talks about his struggles. He does not want it to leave a bad impression on those who do not know God.
David does not complain in public. He takes it to God in private.
Moses did the same. He took his complaints to God. He did not say them around other people.
What we say matters. But who we say it to also matters.
Verse 11- God consumes like a moth. We see that God loves us too much to allow us to continue in idolatry. Sometimes He takes away our idols. He does it all out of love.
Psalm 33:21 our heart is glad in Him because we trust in His Holy name.
Because we trust in God we can let our guard down.
I will trust and fear ( respect, have awe ) in God. In this He extends His friendship to me. He teaches me His secrets.
This is where my heart finds home.
