I used to suffer "hangovers" after big days out running or riding but since going plant based a few years ago I don't really have any of that anymore. I'm lighter, stronger and more resilient than I ever was!

The day after a 100 mile bike ride I got a scheduled CRP test and it increased 10 times more than normal. Gotta remember to take it easy before a test next time.

I only need a few minutes to recover from hard exercises as opposed to the hours or a day like I did many years ago when I was not plant-based.

I’m really fascinated by this association between endurance athletes and atherosclerosis. It would be great to see more research on the mechanistic hypotheses. The suggestion the the increased calorie metabolism might be explanatory was the first I heard, but makes sense. Show me the data! 😊

I feel like this answers a question I had for a while: is it bad to eat a lot of food? The answer is no as long as it’s whole plant food? Honestly it’s a challenge trying to eat just 4000 calories a day of whole plants… I have to constantly eat and if I miss a meal then I will have a deficit that day. That’s even with peanut butter! But it’s worth it

Not sure I completely agree my father is 91 and eats meat and hardly any vegetables or legumes as he can’t digest it . Alternatively I have to eat more fibrous alkaline and leaner protein sources but bare minimal to fix my cholesterol and GFR . I’m still on the borderline form as an athlete I can’t afford to have athletic grievances.
