Really great review, Greg. I'm looking forward to seeing this next wave of mid-size resin printers as well.

One nice thing about the plastic cover is that it gives you full access to the printing area, instead of just the front being open.

I'm only here for the cool intro, the on-point information, the excellent tech advice, the great feedback, the thorough testing and the great content.

I have an Epax x1 and have no problems with it. It has been extremely reliable and I'd buy from them again. actually looking at the E10. Their customer service is awesome.

Great review! one thing really worth mentioning is the Z height, the E10 is 250mm vs 200mm of the Saturn! for me its an easy choice

I have two FDM printers, an Ender 5 Pro and Monoprice Maker Select V2.1 which has been thoroughly upgraded. The more I try to use them for anything but larger, less detailed prints, the more they fail me. I love my Ender 5 for the most part, but I'm finding myself getting more into minis, terrain, and detailed items and it just can't do it to the level I require. Time is a huge issue too. I'm making a little business here and the time it takes to print anything is just too long. This review has convinced me to sell the FDM printers and get a resin printer ASAP. The larger build plate on these now along with this kind of price point makes it a no-brainer for my use. Thank you for the review!

Love your reviews. Went back and forth between getting this and the Saturn. At the price point of the e10 even with the 45 day shipping I just ordered it! Thanks for the great videos !

Increasing the angle on the build plate will both increase the material required substantially, and reduce the build height of the machine.

I really appreciate the knowledge you share with us. To those people who would complain about the price, in my case I would spend 2k to 3k on Dwarven Forge terrain in one order. When I found out about printers, I argued with someone that it was no less expensive. Boy was I wrong. I started with a CR-10 fdm printer. Within the context of what I was spending before, that printer paid for itself in the first two weeks, including the cost of pla and models (mostly from Printable Scenery). Then after I got a good bit of terrain I wanted minis, so I got the Creality resin printer, and it paid for itself in the first week. This Epax machine is only about a hundred dollars more than what I paid for the CR-10 so it is definitely NOT overpriced for what you get. I haven't decided which one I will get yet, but I will be getting one of these resin printers with the bigger build plate in the near future.

Cheers!

The Epax company still make the Epax X10 that has the metal enclosure with the 4k mono screen 8.9 but it is $1700 and I was told they are working on the 5k 10.1inch for it as well

I'd suggest maybe you could try to do "seasons" of testing.
Choose a model with the community, and use it for the next 6 months tests.
Using the model compare speeds, how resins treat it, etc.
Then use the multiple prints for give away of the channel (maybe only on your country).

The thing about this new, larger generation of printers is their pixel size is the same, +/- 0.025mm, as the current gen of 5"x2 1/2" resin printers. Previous large format consumer resin printers used screens with larger (0.08mm or 0.09mm) pixels compared to the standard 0.047mm of the smaller format. THAT is what is making me hyped for this new generation.

This is basically a non starter for any other region than America. I looked at their website and they're not offering a warranty outside of the US and high shipping costs to anywhere other than the US. That's pretty short sighted in my opinion.

Super excited for this. After messing around with the 1x-k I'm happy to say that I'm an epax fan now too. Terrain and larger monsters/vehicle prints soon!

Getting excited for all these machines.

I'd highly recommend you revisit this review. The actual production printers they sent have a molded plastic buildplate that will not stay level. You can't tighten the 4 screws enough to maintain the level without damaging the plastic. So I've found I have to relevel every couple of prints.

I'm also questioning the quality on the lightsource. I've found I have to have SIGNIFICANTLY higher exposure times that all the early reviewers used to get decent results. I don't think my environment is causing these longer times as my shop is a spare bedroom in my A/C'd house.

Great review Greg! I think I'll be pulling the trigger once the 10.1" 5k is available. Thanks again!

I found your channel via the recent video on 3D Printing Nerd. Very useful tips for resin printing! Thanks. Edit: On a side note, I find it amusing people are complaining about resin costs when you consider Game Workshop models can cost as much as a bottle of resin lol.

Love the amazing review and advice. Always feel really well informed after watching your videos. Not to mention the great prints. P.S. Not sure if its just me, but the videos audio was kinda fuzzy at around 10:07- 10:12 and the video was kinda cropped. But still a great video tho.
