Baltimore MAryland is not a Crime Free zone, it is a Free Crime Zone. The City officials care more about not looking bad than they do about actually making things better.

Cities are like people, they go through different phases, hard times, and other struggles.

The best oxymoron, "rush hour". You are not rushing anywhere in So Cal on the freeways unless it's 2 am.

"Most of Orange County is republican..." That is true, except Santa Ana is as blue as LA or SF. All 6 city council members, which include the mayor, are dems. I would never classify Santa Ana as conservative.

Jackson, Mississippi is a great slice of the Third World here in the USA. Dilapidated roads and infrastructure.

I am in Jackson, MS and I don't have plans to move out because it cost more to go almost anywhere. :( I have seen things happen here you should not ever see and it is getting worse.

I loved living in Baltimore. The roads are miserable. I knew of the population decline, glad I sold my condo when I did

Alright, let me break it down for you like this: Paradise, NV—yeah, that’s the Strip, the airport, and all those sketchy motels and mobile home parks you see off the beaten path. This place is like the wild, wild west of Vegas right now, 'cause it’s growing faster than a Chia Pet on steroids. All these folks from California are moving in, so now they’re redeveloping Paradise for everything except for actual homes.

Most folks in Vegas are either working in hospitality or the government. But a lot of them have their own businesses, which is why setting up shop in Nevada is as cheap and private as your grandma’s secret cookie recipe. Trust me, Vegas is expanding like my waistline after a buffet.

Paradise is on the list because the locals are either bouncing to Henderson or sticking around. Yeah, it’s hot as Hades, but you knew that before you signed up. And seriously, where else can you dodge humidity, avoid income tax, and live it up while California folks turn Nevada into an overpriced, unbearable mess?

Seems like Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa don’t show up on the “best” or “worst” states and cities. That might be the gem to move to.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

#5: Back in the 70's, the population of San Francisco dropped below 690, 000. The numbers had always hovered between 700k and 750k. That was back when SF was one of the cheapest major cities. It seemed positively crowded at 750k. I couldn't imagine it with nearly 900k! There wouldn't be room to breathe, let alone move.

As a socal transplant from the valley who left for the PNW well before 2020, seeing socal cities like Santa Ana and El Monte on this list is true. I see more and more people from those areas where I'm at now (425). People from Alhambra too. Its wild.

"If you're not making plans to leave, you're doing something wrong with your life." I thought this about Tonopah, Nevada when I stopped there once for gas.

People are literally leaving st louis just for the suburbs. So not like there really moving 100s of miles away.

#1: You forgot "Traffic" as a reason that folks are leaving the Las Vegas area. I recall a saying from the times that I visited relatives there: "Everything in Vegas is 30 minutes away." You want to get on the freeway, and drive to the other side of town, it's 30 minutes. You want to drive 5 blocks to the grocery store, its' 30 minutes!

That was pretty scary, for sure, when the bridge in Baltimore collapsed.

People aren’t leaving Birmingham AL because of the weather 😂

Dude, I never remember Santa Ana looking THAT good! I did lame private security there for Ingram Micro when I got out of the Marine Corps in the mid ‘90’s… it looked rough- bars on windows of homes, dirty. I went to work for The Claim Jumper Irvine shortly after, all ancient history now.
