I had to live in NJ for 2 years and couldn’t get out fast enough, awful! My cousins were raised in NJ and now are so much happier living in TX now.

The only reason NJ is 10th is because of people moving in as they abandon NYC. Regular New Jersians are leaving in droves.

I live in Florida now but have lived in Oregon, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Tennessee, Colorado, Indiana and Ohio.
Seeing Oregon on your list was a bit of a surprise. Mississippi was also a surprise. Maybe because the population isn’t large a few leaving because of jobs might make it seem worse than it is. Hawaii was no surprise. My 4 year there were enjoyable but the locals were not that friendly. Cost of living is high and lots of poverty with locals. I was surprised California wasn’t listed. It’s fare worse than Oregon. California it’s hard to get away from the crap.

Interesting you did not mention Georgia as a state growing in the Southeast. We are now second in population to Florida after passing North Carolina a few years ago. It's okay if you never mention us in the future.
