Why TF-1 is Megatron's STRONGEST Form! | Bayverse

In TF1 (Transformers 2007), Megatron is the main villain. The entire film is built around the Decepticons trying to release him. He was menacing and incredibly powerful. In fact, 2007 Megatron is the strongest character in the Bayverse. However, Megatron got WAY weaker in the later installments of the Bayverse film series. I will show you why 2007 Megatron is stronger than any of his other representations (in the Bayverse).

I forgot to mention that 2007 Megatron also has that fear factor.

In 2007, Optimus doubted his abilities against Megatron, but Optimus did not doubt his abilities against Megatron again. That is partly due to training and Megatron being significantly weaker.

Also, the Autobots immediately retreated when they saw Megatron in 2007 (except Jazz, who ended up dying). Meanwhile, in TLK, the Autobots ran and jumped at Megatron without hesitation.

There is also this simple but dumb reason as well. Megatron was the "final boss" in 2007, whereas in later installments Megatron was a "mini-boss". 2007 was written with the goal of Megatron being the most powerful character, whereas in later installments, he was written as a side character to the most powerful villain (of that film). That applies to every film except TLK, but he still was a side quest in that film.

2007 megatron was a beast, it took a piece of robot god just to kill him

I think a better dialogue for the forest fight is how optimus said "Hide Sam !" instead of "Run Sam !", meaning he knew he can or even will win the fight through the implications of said dialogue

All in all, TF1 was in a body he was most familiar with. All his movements and maneuvers and attacks were so natural to him like prime example was when he got thrown, fell gracefully, and turned smoothly to form his canon with his two arms together. He was so comfortable and intuitive

It’s a very simple answer that you guys are over looking. All the transformers autobots and decepticons alike took on earth machinery. Whereas megatron crashed into earth and was frozen. When he melted he still didn’t change form. He had the same body he battled the entire war of cybertron with. Millions of years of experience and knowing your body well not to mention he was a warrior before the war too.

I'll keep saying this to the day I die... 2007 Bayformers Megatron was fucking PEAK.

Despite the short screen time he had in the movie, the dude had black air force energy every single time and demonstrated his power and ruthlessness without fail, to the point where Optimus Prime was getting dogged on like a parent disciplining their child.

It still irks me to this day that the once-proud Decepticon leader gradually became a walking scrapheap with each consecutive film. Sure, I understand that there's a lore and narrative reason for this, but still, it just rubs me the wrong way. It would've been so cool to see him build his strength back up to finally have a leg-up against Optimus.

Megatron was just playing around. Even if prime wasn't holding back Megatron when he takes it serious would have killed prime. Now I wonder what if Megatron wasn't neft in the sequel and kept his original form? 2007 Megatron was just a real beast.

0:15 I don't think Starscream "wanted" to free him from cryo-stasis per se. It's just that he knew Megatron was already there, and with the AllSpark being located in the exact same place, he quite literally had no choice BUT to free Megatron, lest the other Decepticons just do it themselves.

There's a theory I've read somewhere that when Allspark killed Megatron, Primus, viz Transformer's jesus Permanently weakened megatron's spark.

i just realized that Sentinel took a shot of a rocket by a human and was severely damaged, he started running away after that meanwhile 2007 megatron took direct hits from missiles from fucking jets and was still alive, it would have been interesting to see how Sentinel couldn't defeat megatron in a 1vs1 fight when they were at cybertron, no wonder why he decided to make the deal with him.

That one dislike is from Starscream 🙏💀

I miss it when Megatron was actually a threat and not just a villain who exists for the sake of it

Tf1 megatron is my all time favourite. He was like a horrifying monster in transformers 2007 movie.

One concept that I think is crucial is the fact Megatron underwent so many changes, after 2007 he had to adapt to new bodies each time and that was a slow process whereas in 2007 he had the same body he fought the entire war with.

My Ranking from the weakest to the strongest versions:
5) DOTM
4) ROTF
3) Galvatron
2) TLK
1) TF2007

Also tf1 Optimus is underrated. He's the same exact thing as revenge of the fallen. He just gave up on Megatron and also revenge of the fallen end is my favorite version of Megatron

The fact that megatron is a bigger threat than an actual prime is really disturbing but awesome. Id like to see 07 megatron vs knight mode prime

‘07 Megatron is also the only version of him in these movies to (permanently) kill an autobot

After 2007 all of the villains got nerfed other than Sentinel and Lockdown honestly

A real debate would be ‘07 Megatron versus The Last Knight Megatron. Knight Megatron was as much of a beast as ‘07 Megatron. Dude literally took on the entire Autobot team HEAD ON and pinned down Optimus with ONE hand.
