THANK YOU so much for these tips and "interviewing" your sweet mom! She brings up the perspectives and challenges we can sometimes face. Here's a new one for you: I was almost 90% raw until I got braces on my teeth and then had to have extensive oral surgery and wear rubber bands 24/7. I have popped 12 brackets off at different times during treatment (a record at my orthodontist office), so then I was on almost all smoothies, soups and soft fruits. Somehow I started craving cooked white rice, mashed potatoes, cooked cruciferous veggies, roasted butternut squash, cooked beans and tofu, etc., things I would NEVER eat or even crave typically just to get my calories up, foods that were soft that I could eat. I also travel a lot and tour as a musician and that's a whole other story with food on the road. Anyhow, I am looking at this as a temporary situation until I get my braces off and am doing the best I can! I just bought a dehydrator again because in the winter I do occasionally crave denser, softer and warmer foods, but I still like to eat them raw. I will up my soft whole fruit intake and see if this helps. At the core of this you just really have to want to eat raw and continually CHOOSE to because of the benefits on every level, which I do. Thank you for the inspiration Kristina!!!

Nut, seeds and avocados are packed with nutrients and should be eaten every day in my opinion :) great video btw!

I think the real reason why people fail on a raw or even vegan diet is because they crave and miss the foods they were eating. It doesn't matter how many potatoes and nutritional yeast you eat, it's never going to really taste like cheese. You cover this in #4, but I think #4 is #1 and is the toughest. Cravings and emotions are very strong and can take over your mind if you let them.
