What would’ve been a crazier way to make it fail would’ve been for Dooku to actually combine the orders 65/66 so when Palpatine executes the order 66 it also does 65 without his knowledge. Then Dooku could come in and clean up the Republic/CIS/Neutral Systems as they see the corruption become wiped out. I think Dooku would’ve made a new order of force users that did what the Jedi did before current times of helping the galaxy at large and inspiring hope, justice, and safety. The new order would be that of a balanced order or even a mixture of the 3 sides of the force light, dark, and balanced. The balanced master would be the top master and then the light/dark master would hold equal ranks beneath the balanced master. The council would be made up of a balanced amount of masters of light, dark, and balanced. They would have plenty of checks and balances to ensure that no council/master goes to far to the light or dark but follow the will of the force. I think having a training session for all 3 types on a regular basis would be good to keep them in a balanced state but whichever the practitioner naturally has an affinity towards would be the council of belief that they would be assigned on but as a person grows and change it could be reassigned to fit the practitioners changed beliefs/perceptions. This would help prevent people from going to far towards either side and as one would go further towards a specific side then they would need to do significantly more training in the opposite so that they balance themselves back out. A balanced master could choose any of the 3 based on their personal beliefs but because they can keep themselves centered while still preferring light/dark would make them a great master. This is how you would make the top ranking of each councils would be chosen by the peers of the council and agreed by the other councils as well to ensure that the balance is properly maintained. This would be broken down into every aspect of their lives of trying to make sure to do the right thing to balance out nature and not push stuff to far to benefit people while destroying other life that the force doesn’t will to become reality.

What if the Clones did not try to kill Ahsoka in order 66 (sense she was not a Jedi)


What if Obi-Wan Kenobi was in the Jedi Temple during order 66
What if Darth Sidious didn't get in the way of Darth Maul on Mandalore(maybe because he thought it was beneath him or something)
What if anakin escaped slavery and lived as a tuskin raider before he was found by qui gon jinn

Those are just a few ideas I was thinking about I thought they were somewhat interesting and not done before from my knowledge

I think the Republic would spilt between pro-Jedi and anti-Jed factions adding to the ongoing civil war.

Back in my tabletop RP days my group ran many campaigns in such a setting continuing into the post Endor era. Our set up was different though in that in ours Mace Windu killed Palpatine before Anakin reach Palpatine's office. The political fallout from this meant whether to punish the Jedi or accept their actions was the biggest issue of the Chancellor elections with Bail Organa, who supported the Jedi, winning. His opponent Tarkin claims the Jedi used their powers to sway the election and a number of planets declare their loyalty to him leading to a long string of hot and cold wars between the two Republic factions, and the CIS which used the chaos from the new conflicts to rebuild their strength and reclaim much of their lost territory.

I still think that the galactic Marines would still execute Order 66 since ki-adi-mundi was so harsh to the clone troopers.
I would also imagine That on Captain rex's side of the 501st would not execute Order 66 on Maul and Ahsoka, but Sergeant Appo would still execute Order 66 because of the betrayal that Pon Krell did on Umbara.
