Came back to check out the NFS franchise after Most Wanted and found this. Glad I did !
Cheesed off with the movie gameplay right in the beginning …. waiting to start driving ASAP but ….
Almost through with the game, I understood the game concept and loved it. Nice change from the others and I identify with Jack Rourke. That makes it more personal. Those complaints about bad handling may come from keyboard players cause with a budget game pad like Logitech 310, driving is silky smooth and you need that to avoid head on wrecks. Simple storyline and variations in driving conditions will make me come back to this game again many times. Writing this in 2021 and for a game launched a long time ago, this is what enjoyable gameplay is all about.
Stunning graphics, even more so stick-in-your-head soundtrack, can choose your favourite part of the run ( mine was the avalanche snow run with blasting rocks ) to replay, some plot twists, witty dialogue, and I’m in love with Nikki & Mila !
I m playing this on PC and those who are looking for a good fun driving game with almost real physics, don’t be put off that this was released ten years ago.
To EA developers who might be reading this, how about The Run II ? I’d pay good money for the sequel.

I played this game for Nintendo 3DS and it's quite good for a handheld port of a console game (though seeing as they ported the exact same game for the Wii with slightly rendered graphics not sure what that says about the Wii version). You won't be jumping across rooftops on this version of the game though. Instead this game focuses solely on driving. The game has some interesting level that include wrecking a certain amount of enemies off the Road and driving into the back of a speeding truck and making a jump into a moving train. You play as Matt, a former racing driver in debt. Matt meets a mysterios woman who get him into The Run, a cross-to-cross race from San Francisco to New York. The plot is good with some interesting twists. The control are pretty simple and easy to get the hang of. Sometimes you can also do Heroic Actions witch include swiping the touch screen in a certain direction during a limited time. Need For Speed The Run for Nintendo 3ds is a good handheld port of a NFS game though not as good as it's PS3, XBOX 360 and Pc counterparts. 6/10

This Need For Speed is truly one of a kind. The story is one of the most cunning premises, of driving all the way from San Francisco to New York. This game came out in 2011 but despite the age, the graphics still hold up by a lot. The sound of the cars also really feel pronounced and as if they are being worked to the edge, almost as if they're on "The Run". The soundtrack in this game is top notch, very memorable. One thing people seem to complain about is the handling. In my opinion, I think the handling makes the game more challenging and more fun. If the game had the same handling as all the other games, it wouldn't feel nearly as unique and probably less entertaining to me. My only complaint is that the PC version didn't get as much attention as consoles, thus being a bit behind the last update. Overall, this game is probably my most favorite racing game of all time, besides Need For Speed: Carbon.

It's so underrated!
The graphics are amazing, the story is freaking dope, and for a engine that was made for FPS games, the car controlling is so smooth
The only problem is that i find it short, and the fact that after you complete the story, you don't have much to do on it
There's the challenges and Multiplayer, but for a game of The Run type, it could have a lot more.

This game is designed to give you a more realistic feel of driving against the law. the driving physics isn't very good and the camera zoom is kinda annoying. When you use nitro you don't really feel like you are going so much faster because you slow down a bit before you nitro. brake sensitivity is a bit too high and the feel isn't great if you are used to other need for speeds. there is not much content after you complete the story which lasts 2 hours (3 if you aren't very good). There are some challenges but they aren't very interesting to keep you playing.

Overall this game is fun but basic hard to drive and short.

I do guarantee that this version of the game does have the better story, and so far, the gameplay is more BlackBox styled than the regular one.

Though I'll admit this version is pretty cheesy with the stunts, the story is actually a lot more interesting and the soundtrack in the Wii/3DS beats the other versions by a big margin. Never would have expected remixes of the old NFS tracks in it and special N4S mixes of some songs in there

I can see vin diesel cough Matt cough throwing a club at a helicopter that transforms into a deceptricon and explodes in some nuclear fallout or some shit saved last second by the US military and still think that the dude who wrote this was less high than the writers from nfstr2

The Wii version is literally a borrowed drag and drop from the 3DS. What’s different is that on the Nintendo 3DS the cutscenes have some action in it meaning those are touch screen mini games on the 3DS.

I've finished this version before, yea, the story came straight outta Fast & Furious, even the stunts being done here is powered by F A M I L Y... What if Matt's actual name is... *cough* *cough* Matthew Toretto, Dom's long lost cousin

And also this game always gives us "H E R O I C" comments on every stunt being done 😂

Loved this version, kinda fits to be a paid mobile game honestly
