I had a DSi XL. Lost it during the pandemic. I still have the charger and all my games set aside for whenever I find it. It was still working perfectly.

The dsi xl is super sturdy. The original dsi had a common issue where the LR buttons wouldn't work but they fixes it with the dsi xl.

I love my metallic rose dsixl! It’s very comfy to hold in your hands and looks very sleek! I have so many fond memories on it with my family and pets.

I still play my DSI XL to this day. The battery lifetime is so good! When turned it on after a few years it was fully charged and still perfectly functioning.

I rank the lite higher because it's the better looking of the GBA compatible DS models, and it had plenty of color options and was nice to use

I recently helped one of my cousins with their childhood DSi XL, charged it and it worked like a charm. I want to get her a replacement stylus and Sonic Rush for her 11th birthday at the end of the month. Another cousin of mine, who is my other cousin's brother and turning 13 in August, also still has his DSi XL and I plan on getting him a new stylus (they both lost them years ago) and Disney Pixar Cars. I chose the games specifically because the girl cousin likes Blaze and for the boy cousin Cars, because whenever we hung out, we would take turns playing together all the time and we always enjoy looking back on those really nostalgic moments with each other. He doesn't have the game anymore because he gifted it to me to play on my 3DS along with the case his DSi XL was in, because it was actually a 3DS case and The Sims 2 Pets

Might just be me, but I was pleasantly surprised by the battery life of of the DS family. Really, It feels like they last for days compared to more recent handhelds, which managed to hold on for just about 8 hours before recharge.

While this memory leaves me with trauma regardless of my father fixing it, I still appreciate how he tried to fix what he did. When I was 8 years old, because in a previous home I was bullied for not having a 3ds (just a DS lite and it was broken by a cousin) I decided to save up what little money I could to save up for a 3ds. My dad’s construction buddy even hooked me up and made a deal to buy toys from me for his daughter and teaching me about yk value and stuff. I kept selling my toys, but unfortunately my father was and still is an alcoholic. He slowly took my savings, saying he needed it for gas when he would instead come home with large packs of beer. This continued until I had no flashy toys to sell and he took the rest of my savings. I struggle with saving even now. But as him and I moved to another city close by to some family friends and I had my 9th birthday, he came home from work and presented me with a blue DSi XL. It wasn’t the 3DS that I wanted, but I grew to cherish it indefinitely. For a time I couldn’t play on it because the pins in the charging port got bent, but as I got older I was more confident in just fixing them myself as years of not being taken to get it fixed. I still have it to this day at 20 years old and play it all the same. I won’t forget what my dad had previously done, but him making up for his actions was really sweet for how he used to be. He’s a much better man with a loving wife now though! 😊
