One hundred years ago, women fought for the right to vote, and won. Today, as we celebrate this important milestone, we also recognize that women of color were intentionally excluded from this victory, despite their heroic efforts to help achieve it.

This centennial is a reminder that we must redouble our efforts to fight voter suppression that silences far too many voices in our democracy, make election day a national holiday, and ensure everyone who wants to can vote by mail. And we must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to finally guarantee the right to vote to all.

The last half of that last line,
“...And that their vote counts.”
We need to work on this too.

Adding an amendment to the US Constitution is a VERY arduous and long process to achieve. It's an embarrassment to our democracy that it took an actual amendment to our US constitution to give half of our citizenry the right to vote.

Ah yes, convince us that a bill should be passed without actually telling us what's in the bill.

Totally disagree why because John Louis was resist against other people. And the color of ones skin should never be a factor we all that pay taxes should be 💯 equal Americans. If we are ever going to serve the race card needs to go!

Nah. I'd prefer John Lewis be forgotten with time because he clearly tried to forget Bernie's actions during the Civil Rights Movement.

Patever.
