He didn't sing this to contest with Freddie Mercury, he sang it to honour him. He deserves credit for that. Some people here fail to realize that.

Elton was a great friend of Freddie’s and even visited him on his deathbed. LOYALTY

He sang this with his voice, as a tribute not an imitation. This version is amazing, full of feelings.

I'm a Queen fan but also a Elton fan, Elton may not have the same vocal range as Freddie, but he certainly knew how to sing properly in his style, I love the way he sing this song.

Elton maybe has not that range but man he sings with soul and emotion. And that is what music is all about.

Saw Elton on a cafe drinking coffee in Colchester once, he just sat chilling with 4-5 bodyguards just outside of the cafe , but Elton was kind enough to let me get a picture of us together and an autograph.
Great experience.

The best and yet saddest cover in history

John Deacon was suffering from very deep depression but still gave it everything to perform because the show must go on, Freddie would have been proud of him

Elton doesn't parallel the vocal range or stage presents of Freddie Murcury in the slightest, but he has one large set of balls singing for him, that I respect very much

I love that Elton sang this. Freddie must've been so unbelievably proud of his bandmates and friends that night. Something tells me he must've been so in awe of all the love shown. Freddie, you are irreplaceable.

I like the way Elton John sang this masterpiece. He knows that he can't hit those high notes like Freddie so instead of that he's doing low harmonies and leaving highs for Roger. That was absolutely genius move. ❤️

Elton sang this song with love, loss, and honour. He has nowhere near the vocal range of Mercury, but he is a hell of a musician and knows how to make it sound good regardless of his restrictions. You don't need to have the highest vocal range to be a star. Freddie and Elton are both legends in their own ways. If only Freddie were still here.

Tony Iommi is incredibly humble to have done rhythm guitar on this song.

Seeing John Deacon's sad face almost made me cry. I can feel his pain 😔. For some reason i have a soft spot for him, he is my fav Queen, aside from Freddie of course...

John's face kills me, I don't know, if it's just me but it shows so sad and even wanting to cry 😢

He did it for Freddy and he did it perfectly. Elton John is pure love. He had and has truckloads of empathy. Love you Elton.

John D. was crying a lot before concert. He didn't want to perform because he was shy and scared without Freddie. but Bri and Rog supported him a told him that he doing this for Freddie. John did it very well cause he is very strong man. ❤️❤️❤️Freddie was one of the most important person in his life because sometimes was Freddie the only one who understood his problems and could help him with them. I love you John❤️❤️❤️ I hope you're doing well❤️❤️.

Elton John was not singing here, he was crying because of the lost of his loyal friend. Of course Freddie Mercury performed this song much better than him, but we can never ignore those emosions in Elton's performance. So, simply he did an amazing job!

A lot of comments about Sir Elton, but are we just gonna ignore that the guitarist from BLACK SABBATH is playing with them!?!? Love this combo

As a long time Queen fan, I'm 73, I felt this was a commendable performance by Elton!
