Want to improve your threshold power? What better way to do it than in a session with the Mitchelton-Scott pros! We've got a great workout pushing you up and over your threshold power.

In association with Elite

This session includes:

5 minute progressive warmup

1st set of intervals at 90rpm:

3min at Tempo
3min at FTP
3min just over your FTP

2nd set, repeat the efforts at 70rpm.

Repeat both sets of intervals.

5 minutes steady cool down.

We wouldn't recommend wearing leg and arm warmers like Esteban Chaves when you try this session!

I'm one week away from getting a new hip and my doctor told me my recovery will be much faster and with fewer complications if I'm in top physical shape. I've been using a variety of GCN training videos such as this one to get stronger before my surgery and I can't tell you how much improvement I've seen by using the videos. So, a very big thank you for posting these and providing the instruction and motivation to improve one's fitness on and off the bike. Looking forward to using the videos after my surgery to get back in the saddle and on the road as soon as I can. Great work and thank you again GCN!

Love these big sessions. My fitness skyrockets. For sure. I do these sessions for rugby tag. And I have more endurance than the youngsters I play against. And I'm 45. Out playing youth.

This was awesome. Really enjoyed the banter. Loved getting some athlete stories "this is when we go back to the bus..." Really loved the interaction, particularly they way he kept asking what was next...loved it!

Dear GCN, can you also show heart rates (even only one would be enough) if it's appropriate? I'd like to see how the heart of an experienced cyclist reacts to these trainings,

Two thoughts.

One: How about rating training sessions on an out of 5 star basis (or rating them like Cat climbs maybe)?

Two: Could you consider using a gradient filter for the top half of the screen underneath the overlaid graphics? Some of the climbing videos around the Dolomites have such a high contrast sky that I can't make out the time or cadence wheel at points where it shows one of you guys smashing the climb.

That said, thanks so much for doing these as they are brilliant!
