Best Way to Attach TV Mount to Just Drywall

Great way to attach heavy object to drywall. I would be confident to use four of these if, for some reason, there were no studs. Definitely try and set your project up to attach one side to a stud. I highly recommend using socket adapters to drive in lag bolts to your 2x4 or 2x6 stud. Please reach out with any questions on your project!

Good for flush mounts but not for the full motion style.

Thank you a lot really. I'm a young guy trying to get this done for mom before coming home and honestly had no idea her wall didn't have a stud so I thought I was screwed. I went to home Depot near the house and now the TV is up and my mom is super happy.

Used 2 packs Saturday to mount a 55” above my fireplace through natural stone. Blocking was too low so I used those and it’s holding. So far so good. DeWalt laser level used. Saw this vid this morning. 😂. That’s par for the course!!

I have a similar situation, luckily the stud happens to be in the center of my mount. Do you recommend using flip toggles to secure both ends as well?

Thanks a lot for the video! I re arrange my HT setup and I wanted to mount the TV this time, my problem was that the studs were in a place were the TV would not be in a center position from viewing area, so I got those anchors and I used 6 of them, 2 on each side of the base plate and 2 at the center, my TV weights around 37 pounds(17 kg) and those anchors are supposed to hold around 260 ponds on drywall, so I think it's solid... I hope so 😅

Anyway thanks again!

New subscriber, but read the back of the package, not recommended for mounting TVs. Not sure why!

Great video, very clear presentation. My TV mount is 16". The studs are 24" apart. At least I can mount to a stud on one side. Thanks...

Those toogle bolts also say do not use for mounting tvs....so who do I believe? I've used them to mount small tvs but I need to mount an 80" tv and now I'm worried the flip toogles won't work...

I wouldn't be sitting under that TV, I would say you're right on the border line for fixings totally dependant on the stud drywall screws.

Very helpful thank you. I have a Sanus mount wall for a 43” tv. I doubt the weight is a problem but I am worry that once it is installed because it extends up to 21” forward, that weight and the length when extended will rip the drywall because it will no longer be close to the wall, thanks!

I would like to use this method for installing a rustic whiskey bottles rack. Approximately what could be the weight that this method can hold before falling? And thanks for the video, awesome solution!!
