Показать описание
Graves' disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes the immune system to overstimulate the thyroid gland. It's one of the most common causes of hyperthyroidism.

The thyroid gland is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located in the base of the neck. Although relatively small, the thyroid gland plays a huge role in our body, influencing the function of many of the body’s most important organs.

Learn more about the thyroid from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology at AACE.com/Thyroid.
