Thanks for the video!!! I am presently replacing the brakes lines on my 2002 after one blew near the same location as your fuel line. Then I looked at the fuel lines and wiped my finger across one and I smelled gas. So now I will also be replacing the supply one for sure--until I can sort out the others. The brakes will be copper-nickel line use.

Little tip If you have any rubber hoses say 3/8"s for your 5/16" hose ..Cut the house down the middle and about 2 inches long.. Slip over your nylon line and the frame of the car Use 2 tie straps over each end You now have a barrier from the frame And a bit of a space You can find most Dorman products at any Auto parts store that has "Help" products near by or at the brake and fuel sections Quick connect fittings are hard to put on unless you have the tool for it Or know how to make it wider ...I put in my needle nose pliers and open the lip of the house more also i use a lighters flame to soften it wider too ..

Dude, I'm using your compression fitting idea to replace a leaky quick connect fitting at the fuel tank on my Dodge truck. In this case there is a 3/8 inch steel line coming from the fuel pressure regulator going to a 5/16 inch nylon fuel line. I've put on three different quick connectors and they all leaked. Adapting your idea will likely solve that issue. Thanks for posting the video.

Looks like the brake lines are next.
My 01 tracker top break line just sprung a leak right where they all bend up near the rear tire. I like the zip tie idea.
Because the little white hold all clips were dry rotted. Of course im not using compression fittings. Would be so much easier though.

Thanks for the video, glad I ran into it because I'm going to have to do this for my car as well. Of all the videos I watched on replacing fuel lines, this is the first I saw of compression fittings that mate nylon to steel, usually it's with quick connects and clamps, so thanks for that. So nylon is considered appropriate for running replacement fuel line, even for the long run from front to back of the vehicle? What pressure is the nylon line rated for, I assume enough for the pressure of a fuel injection system of a car? Thanks again.

This dude is using fuel line to replace brake line!!! This is an ABSOLUTE no no there's a reason why the brake lines are made out of metal! Steel in fact or flex hose that was intended for the that type of system, as a automotive technician by trade I can tell you that your are endangering your self and the others you share the road with . I hope you get it fixed man, be safe !

Funny how this is legal for fuel line but not brake line, presumably because of the higher pressures. I'm not looking forward to fixing this, especially with the prospect of converting to quick disconnects at the filter. Plastic is the way of the future.
