Playstation Just Bought Bungie - Creators of HALO

Sony has acquired Bungie and while it may not be a whole publisher, there are really interesting levels of this I’d like to dive into with you including it’s meaning, exclusivity, Bungie’s past and such that makes Bungie being a Playstation studio so fascinating.

Can we please stop trying to correct me about Halo? I never said in this that Halo is becoming a Playstation IP. It was just a point for conversation that Bungie are the people that originally developed Halo and I find that irony funny here years later. That's it....

Bungie always wanted to make destiny into a movie and TV universe. Sony has those capabilities that bungie can take advantage of. So this makes sense to me.

I can’t help but feel like Sony overpaid for this by like… A LOT.

Bungie has one IP and none of the talent that worked on Halo is there anymore. Half of them went back to MS and the others went their separate ways during the first Destiny’s very troubled development.

God it's amazing how many people don't do their research. Bungie today has NO members of the OG Halo dev team or ANY Halo dev team left.

This is a good buy for Sony they desperately need a true shooter game let’s hope they do good with this perches but as a massive halo fan myself this is the Best Buy for Sony outside of buying the rights to Spider-Man

The only things Sony gets out of this is Bungies multiplatform and multiplayer tools. Given their expantion in the PC market and the fact that all Bungie games are going to be crossplatform, infers this wasnt about games, but systems

As a destiny fan this makes me happy and worried, back in destiny 1 when bungie had there exclusivity deal with bungie, there were exclusive Exotic weapons some of which were really good, I'm worried that because we're in 2022 and with Sony being anti consumer in recent years, I'm afraid this'll hurt all players not on playstation long term I'm afraid of exclusive events content like raids and dungeons, will be playstation exclusive but let's see what happens.

Doesn't matter Microsoft owns halo they can't make it exclusive and even if they do Microsoft can make call of duty exclusive which they should have done in the first place because Sony made spiderman exclusive which is a low blow because spiderman games were on originally on Xbox and PlayStation
