5 mysterious ancient civilizations that you've probably never heard of. Today, we take a look at these 5 ancient civilizations you've probably never heard of.

Archaeologists believe that the first ever human civilization came into existence in Mesopotamia. This was the area between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. It is estimated that this civilization dates back to around 10,000 BC. It is believed that this was the first time that humans had found agriculture and started to domesticate the animals.

From that civilization, the human beings spread in different parts of the world. And many new civilizations were formed during the subsequent centuries. It's believed that over the course of human history, there have been hundreds, if not thousands of civilizations that came into existence and then vanished from the surface of Earth.

There's one I definitely already knew of, the kingdom of Kush is one I'm quite familiar with.

Cush, son of Ham, son of Noah, son of Lamech, son of Methuselah, son of Enoch, son of Jared, son of Manahal, son of Kenan, son of Enosh, son of Seth, son of Adam, son of God, is the progenitor of the "black" race, see Jer 13:23, some times if says Cushite and other times Ethiopian. Nimrod, was the son of Cush's old age, and he established the first empire after the Flood. Also called Amraphel (in the Book of Jashar, referenced in Books of Joshua and 2 Samuel) in the Old Testament, Nimrod was the opposition to Abraham in the war of the Five Kings (Gen 14), and kidnapped Lot and his family, forcing Abraham to act against these Kings. Babal was the first city Nimrod built, he also constructed Accad and Nineveh, and the founder of the Kingdom of Shinar.

Great idea for a new drinking game! Every time the narrator says "civilization", ALL drink. I'd be tipsy after 5 minutes of this video...

Such a fun video. I do have one suggestion, though. It would be nice for you to put a caption that shows the spelling of the civilization you are talking about. Your pronunciation is vastly different than here in the US, so I am very curious how they are spelled. (For example, the way you pronounce, "Euphrates." In the US we pronounce it "You-fray-tees." Luckily, I knew what you were talking about with that word, but the spelling of the civilizations would be nice so I could look up more information about them. Thank you.

There were several large urban areas in Kush or Nubia. And they did have a system of writing it's called Meroic. And they haven't been able to decipher it except for some of the vowel words. And the 25th dynasty which was made up of Nubian pharaohs lasted from about 746 BCE to 653 BCE.

I’ve heard of the Mitanni kingdom and, from what I remember, their civilization ended when they were attacked by the Hittites - the Assyrians came later.
