As a researcher of Nan Madol, I appreciated your perspective. One thing that is clear when you visit the site is that most of the corners of the structures are tilted upward suggesting an Asian influence. The primary theory is the founders of Nan Madol came from Taiwan and it was in use up to 400 years ago. Also I'm returning as I believe I have found a freshwater source within the ruins them selves.

Our Ancient Ancestors were pretty smart.
They might of had some "primative" cultural beliefs....but they had a much understanding of the earth and many of the feats of engineering still stand when our "modern" structures rarely last for 100 years.
You got to give credit where credit is due.
Our ancestors did not need the internet or GPS, and would be laughing at our ineptitude!

Have anybody spotted the building basalt blocks (long hexagonal logs) are nearly the same for the site number 5 (beginning of the video) in Indonesia and site 2 (Nan Madol) ? I mean both structures were wisely constructed from such basalt logs, probably without cutting\prepearing them - the builders just took them from nearby old inactive volcano site there the logs were already formed and separated from each other. The crystallisation of molten lava can cause that it breaks up into separated blocks like these.
