1: have a good first touch
2: build up speed once you’ve taken a good first touch
3: do not hesitate
4: feint before it’s too late
5: if you’ve failed, don’t give up and adapt

A tip that helps for me is if I am going to do the 1v1, I say to myself I am going to get around this player. This builds up your confidence which helps you have an attacking first touch, building speed because you will not back down, you will get around them. And once you decide your going to get around them you don’t hesitate and rethink your decision. Even if they stop you it’s way better than hesitating and getting tackled and falling on your face.

it's also helpful to change your direction as soon as the defender gets ready to make him think you won't dribble at him.
Yes this means you aren't going directly to the goal. But the defender often will retreat because it looks like you aren't trying to dribble him but another defender.
As soon as the defender makes the retreat you change direction and pace and he's unprepared and of position. Messi did this a lot.

some important things;
Know your limits.
Read/know yor opponents level...

Agility is key in 1v1.

You should always be confident and know where you want to go... as you are in the driving seat. Defender will always have to react to you.

Im speaking on behalf of the defenders, if you take a bad touch we stick a tackle in so if u focus on ur touch u will notice that defenders will move back to create space instead of rushing in

So true. Don’t hesitate and don’t limit your space by going close to defenders to step over

Why didn't he mention the change of pace? Because for me it's the key to dribble and eliminate any opponent, it's the most important thing to dribble and eliminate an opponent because you are always one step ahead of the opponent

the most common issue I see with players 1v1 is that they ALWAYS hold the ball up. You can slow down play if you're waiting for supporting attackers or if you're in a tiny space and need to bait the defender in. But if you're on a break and then you slow the ball down to do some silly step over combination, STOP. Either use a change of pace or quick change of direction and keep moving at speed. When you slow the ball down, you not only make it easier for the defender marking you, but you ALSO let all the opposing defense get back into position. Stop doing this

Can we get a separate vid on how to do the 360 axel rod, mars 3000?

you need space to even have a 1 on 1 scenario also depends on the defenders momentum and hip/body postioning, thats why guardiola passes a lot not to move the ball but the oppisition
