Dr.Mindy, I just bought your book. I´m a cancer-survivor (still on Letrozol) and Muslim who´s used to fasting since around 12, and I´m so happy that you´ve included women without a cycle in your book, really grateful for that! The chapter called "Foods that support your hormones" is also very helpful, as well as the "How to break your fast" and recipes.

It´s wonderful to hear you speak about fasting, specifically dry-fasting. I´ve noticed how so many people avoid mentioning Islam and Ramdhaan, but not you. 💜It´s extremely refreshing, because we´re used to people avoiding to mention anything positive entailing Muslims, so thank you very much! The reason I´m saying this is because our name gets dragged through the mud ONLY when negative things happen, and then the same people go "But this doesn´t have anything to do with Islam!" as soon as we´re connected to something positive, some scientific miracle or great contribution to the world (as in the Golden Age of Muslim scientists who then got their names deliberately Latinised). With such an influential and thorough doctor like you mentioning Muslims in a positive way, it really feels inclusive and fair. Just, thank you and God bless you!

Now, fasting is of course done in many religions, that´s for sure, but we Muslims are encouraged to observe "Sunnah" by fasting Mondays and Thursdays (dry-fast), and it is now called the 5:2 diet. That´s very intriguing! Another thing we call "Sunnah", is to sit down when drinking water (and eating). That´s also been scientifically proven to be beneficial. I would love to hear your take on the 5:2 diet, as you always include such fascinating scientific research. (A Japanese scientist has even done research on Zam-Zam water, and proven that just ONE drop of Zam-Zam changes all the other water molecules! We do a lot of spiritual healing with the Zam-Zam water).

Also, we are encouraged to break the dry-fast with a date, specifically an UNEVEN amount of dates, like 1 or 3. I wonder, is there any science supporting that yet? See, there are a lot of things we do, because we believe that God knows best and there must be a reason why He commanded us to, but we don´t always find out the "why" until many centuries after, such as science finally explaining dry-fasting now 1450 years later.
(Dr.Moseley is no longer with us, but he too used to speak of the Islamic fast and the 5:2 "Sunnah way of fasting". R.I.P dr.Moseley).

I just did a 36 hour fast for the first time this week and watched Mindy's videos while doing it. It was way easier than I thought it would be and I felt great at the end. I am a believer now!

36/12 (ADF) brought me from 96 kg to 82 kg within an blink of an eye. Hang in there… it’s really worth it. Thanks to Dr. Mindy joining CEO Diary Podcast I got aware of the whole concept. It changed my eating style and even more my whole lifestyle. 🎉

I just completed a 36 hour fast this week and it was very easy! I did it mostly for gastro issues and bloating and it has solved my issues, so far! I broke it with her four step suggestion(bone broth, sauerkraut, veggies, plant protein). I have found that doing longer fasts is easier for me when I’m in power phase 2. Good luck to everyone !

I started with 36 hours fasting once a week until I learned about ADF (Alternate Day Fasting) which changed my life. I enjoy food & I have a huge appetite, so I struggled with CICO. Even with less calories, I wasn’t losing weight, it didn’t make me feel good. With ADF, I went from 130lbs to 110lbs and I can still enjoy the food I want during feast days but I now rarely drink alcohol & soda. We also use coconut oil for cooking.

WOW...THX DR MINDY! just decided to follow your advice since hitting plateau on weight loss ( im 70, female, lost about 11 lbs on reg fasting). I tried a 40 hr fast & had 2 hard boiled eggs halfway thru. It was easy & thats an excellent suggestion about egg or avocado or bone broth. I lost 3.6 lbs & broke my plateau. I also didnt realize about the 36:12 ADF. That made me happy & im going to do that, !!! That makes more sense to me..🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️

I love listening to Dr Mindy!! She's so passionate about this subject and provides so much information, it's sometimes hard to take it all in!! But best of all she is so encouraging and uplifting, and makes you feel that fasting is truly something you can master too!!! I've been applying intermittent fasting for about 3 months now, on and off depending on my travels for work, and between yesterday and today I've done my first 20 hour fast, and I'm encouraged now to push on to try and get to 25 hours and up to the 36 hour fast! And being obese and loving food, fasting was never something I wanted to even try let alone do for any length of time!! And I'm seeing the results!! Thank you, Dr Mindy!!! ❤

I am so happy I came across this video! It was just what I needed to hear to begin to understand maybe why though I do everything right, IF for 18/6, no carbs, no sugar, little fruit, water, tea and coffee in the morning, fresh, organic, whole foods, and I’m not able to burn fat. Tonight after dinner, which is in the oven now, I will do a 36 hour fast! I can’t wait to see what happens!

Great job with the dandelions Mindy! I've been foraging and eating them for a few years now. I have a big colander that I wash them in. Sometimes I take it with me hiking and foraging. Why wasn't I doing this before?!? It demonstrates how brainwashed we all can be - if we don't turn our minds on and think clearly about things. I've lived on my land for 30 years with zero pesticides. I created rocked off sections of the yard for the dandelion, figwort, chickweed, sorrel, hogweed, etc. etc. etc., and even a place on the other side of the alley (into the woods) for the thistles. I did this for the benefit of the birds, bees, and butterflies (gold finches LOVE the thistles! me n the dog hate thistle, but we LOVE the goldfinches!) I'm so glad I did this, then I realized - why am *I* not eating some of those greens?!?! Purslane, Broad and lance leaf plantain, figwort, sorrel, chickweed, hogweed, etc. etc. Purslane is considered a "superfood" by those who've studied it, it's growing around everywhere, there for free - and everyone goes to buy kale and spinach and tries to kill purslane!!! Well, i guess I shouldn't talk about this - I get it all for free, greedy marketers haven't learn to exploit all of this yet. I must say, it's important to do GOOD research before foraging (not "click bait" or AI) from experienced foragers. We can eat most of the plants in most of our yards, as long as they aren't sprayed with toxins, but we need to know the few plants that ARE dangerous. Dandelions are easy for everyone tho! I pick the smaller leaves for my salads, as they're tender and mild. I pick the larger leaves, stems, flowers etc. that are more bitter and cut up smaller or lightly sautee with onion and garlic. My favorite is dandelion pesto!!! I can easily use the bitter portions as the garlic and almonds or walnuts or pine nuts and other flavors I add easily blend that bitter down. Half my salads come from the yard now, greens that I did NOTHING to grow, but also do NOTHING to destroy and kill. it's still crazy to me that people are killing these plants, often using toxic poison - instead of harvesting and eating them - for free! Along with leaving them for the birds, butterflies, and bees. And as always, thank you so much for all the in depth and detailed information on fasting - for us girls!!! We need that badly, and you share it so generously. 💞💝💖💕

I have just completed my first 36 hour fast, and it was relatively easy but the key was to keep busy! Before that, I had only done a max of 20 hours. So this was a jump but I did it and I’m really pleased!

I’m so happy I found you Mindy!!! I’ve been doing ADF for a month now and I am completely transformed!! I love food but I love feeling great and being healthy!! Fasting has taught me that food is not the priority we make it to be!!

I alternate day fast every other week and do a 72hr fast in between those alternate weeks!! I’m so amazed with my transformation🎉🎉🎉

36h fast-12h fast-36h fast for 30 days.
Regulate cortisol, reduce stress, walking and yoga is good for that.
Love the liver: greens(avocado, broccoli etc), arugula, ginger, lemon.
Microbiomes: bone broth, raw kefir, parsley.
Put fat alongside your carbs: put fat in every meal along with your carbs. Like avocado.

I love all the orchids in your videos. The most challenging issue for me is changing my shopping patterns. I have been blessed to have a garden but it’s fall now so am starting to plant my indoor garden.
