As of August 4th, Ascended has just over 18k players in-game. Evolved has over 37k. That alone speaks volumes. We didnt want a new game... we wanted an update and refresh/optimization of what we already had.

They added extra locations on the maps, but alot of them have bad mesh and your creatures just fall straight through XD

I loved Ark, but my god, that game did not respect the player's time at all. I played with a 8 man team and it took an absolute century to finish The Island. Easily 80% of our playtime was just farming resources for a 40-80 minute exploration / set of cave runs.

The funny thing is, I still don't believe it was made from scratch. It was just shit ported into the UE5. And the biggest bummer is this cloud stuff. I don't like it and it just makes mapping more difficult. But it seems that the focus here is only on normal modding anyway.

I'm just surprised the company is even still solvent. I wasn't sure they were going to survive through 2Q 2024, and I'm still not sure they can get through 2024 without a bankruptcy filing.

All we needed was ark 1 to still be supported, fixed glitches and LISTEN to their community. We would've never needed an ARK II if that were the case

They made one of the worst choices anyone can ever make... they signed on with a Chinese company. Snails games has been nothing but a detriment to Ark.

That's not the say that the devs have ever really had their acts together... Ark has always been a mess. 10 years in "early access", with the same bugs and issues for most of that time.
They had a good idea, one so good that we all forgave the nonsense for an astonishing amount of time, but now they want to re-release that same idea when we all still have access to the original. Its not going to work. Maybe if ASA improved anything it would be a different story, but the same bugs and glitches that were in ASE for years magically continue into the "complete rework" of ASA.

They did a copy/paste into unreal 5 with a few mods added to the base game, pretended it was more than that, and told us to buy it... people only believe the nonsense for so long.

Honestly they could have added another unofficial map or two with some new creatures, done some TLC's of old creatures and maps, and finished off fixing some big bugs for A:SE.

I'm still hosting my origional Ark Survival Evolved server, too many of my freinds just can't buy a new PC just to run the new game and I mod the heck out of my personal server. I have over 4k hours in the origional and have no desire to try the remastered. I would have gladly spent money on creatures to download for my server, cosmetics, and ect just to continue to support the origional game.

I hopped on a server that said the ping was 90. Once I joined it was over 400. I asked about it and was told that's just the entire game. I confirmed. Every server I joined had a ping far far higher than what was shown at the server screen. This game is a mess in so many ways

Honestly, for me, even with all the horrible decisions and pay to win bs I’d still love to play it. My problem is that public servers were always toxic so my friends and I used to rent a private server but when Nitrado got the exclusivity deal they made the prices more than double what it used to be. I just can’t justify spending another $250 a year for a server.

I’m in the weird position of having discovered Ark Survival Evolved only a few months ago. I play a mixture of single player and having found a suitable unofficial server cluster multiplayer.

I’m happy. I recently Ascended, played through Crystal Isle and grabbed a nice few Crystal Wyverns. Today I literally transitioned into Scorched Earth and I’m having a great time adapting to my new environment.

I had the amazing good fortune of spawning within running distance of the green obelisk. Within minutes I had my 24 (four were transferred in cryopods) chosen tames and the bunch of items and resources I’d left myself.

If you’re reading this as a veteran Ark player you can probably imagine just how much fun I’m having as a newer player just discovering things for the first time. Scorched Earth is proving to be an interesting experience even though I was wondering how they would avoid making a desert map boring.

I’m still saving up for a PS5 so ASA isn’t an option for me. But even if I did, I’m not sure I would go for it though admittedly the Shasta is tempting for one obsessed with mobile bases. I’m not sure that I like what I see from ASA and potentially Ark 2 with the constant cash grabs.

Since I’m happy with ASE and I have a lot of content to get through I’m in a position to wait and see m.
