Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. I came to beautiful Norway from Liverpool for a few weeks in 1975 and fell in love with the country and never went back.
Oslo is quite industrialized and not really representative of the rolling countryside and the amazing scenery & fresh air that you find outside the capital.
Travelling North in winter is like arriving in a wonderland, you really have to experience it at least once in a lifetime.
Saunas are more of a Finnish tradition, but still quite popular here in Norway.

I’m from Scotland but I am obsessed with Norway. I would recommend the train journey from Oslo to Bergen, absolutely stunning. I visited in 2018 and I can’t wait to go back and see the North with the beautiful Lofoten Islands.

the express train is the dobbel price of the local train to oslo. the local train use 3 min longer and is about 10$
