I have been buying 1.0 ships cheap used off pissed off people and buying them new at stores at 50% off so I'm making out like a bandit, not going to 2.0 and been playing 1.0 with family and friends.

Adding a damage deck and templates to each individual conversion kit would raise the prices. When I need to get all 5 faction conversion kits why would I want to pay for 5 sets of templates and 5 damage decks? Having a new core box set makes more sense.

Still on 1.0 playing with family & friends over a cuppa or a beer, works great.

Still play 1.0 and its fine. Have to many ships and stuff to convert, and i only play with family and friends. For me, 2.0 is a cashgrab. The problems could have been solved in a cheaper way.

It's not a bad business decision. You bought it.

As a Scum faction player, my absolutely biggest gripe with the conversion kit was that even though there were 4 dials and 4 Tansarii Point Veteran pilot cards for M3A, there were only 2 Tansarii Point Veteran ship tokens included. That means there are going to be a lot of those pilot cards laying around, when people have to buy 2 conversion kits to fly 4 ships.

As a principal decision, I only purchased a single Scum conversion kit and have been bartering with my ships from other factions to get the Moldy Crow title, 2.0 Damage Deck, maneuver templates and other various upgrades etc.
I've never even considered buying the 2.0 core as that would leave me with 3 ships (and their cards) I'm never going to fly anyway.

Good luck with X-Wing 2.0. They have chosen the wrong approach to deal with their customers. + For the rules, +For getting in clone wars, + For getting digital tool regarding the upgrades although its buggy as hell, - For launching the same ships wrapped on a different package with 5 $ add on price, - For getting OP X-wing 1.0, - For failing moving parts (Look Saw X Wing), - For errors in X-wing cards of 2.0(No QA or play testing in FFG?Seriously are we going to start erratas and FAQs again?), - For the price and the content on the Conversion kits. The scale wavers towards to Minus. Its a money grab and a punch to the face of their customers that supported them so far and to some point FFG has to admit it.

Almost all I can live up to but buying another Core Set is really annoying that I am considering to stay with 1st

Thanks for the video. Let me provide a different perspective from a casual X-wing player. All I have is the original core set to play with friends once in a while. I do agree with TGG that not providing a simple conversion for the original core set is a bad decision because I do not want another core set. Additionally this major change in the game system does not give me the warm fuzzies and if I do decide to get serious about wargaming I will probably choose another game that is more established.

thank you, this information cut me off for buying second edition. ffg is really a freak gang!

The Core Set really isn't bad at all. Your way, you'd end up with three sets of templates, 3 damage decks, three sets of rules, way more tokens than you'd ever need, etc. Possibly more if you buy more than one of each conversion kit. Having it separate is nowhere near "kick in the teeth" territory, and the conversion kits would cost more if they added the core stuff to them anyway.

Also I don't think you can fly more than 4 medium base ships. If you can, you'd still have enough medium bases anyway since you get one with the reaper and the renegades too. So that's 6 with just one kit. Why on earth would you need more?

I'm sorry, but I find this video to be just a long rant of complaints about many frivolous things.

A friend and I have pretty good sized collections and figured there would be enough players staying with the first edition so we weren't going to bother switching. I've spent hundreds of $ on the game, if they would've offered a service to say enter your ship types and amounts and for $X we'll send you conversions kits for all your ships, I might have been interested.  Buying crap I don't need or already paid for seems to be a trend in gaming companies both board and video games. I've been gaming for 35 years and seen game companies screw over their player base (yes games workshop looking at you) and not bat an eye and gamers keep spending money.  I believe that if you want a game company to get a message about something you dislike the best way to let them know is not buying what you don't like.  If you impact them they'll adjust or the game run will end and if you don't impact them, know that other people like what they've done and be content with them being happy.

Problem is, I don't use to use an app to get things set up. One day the app will lose support and their website already has dead not updated links already thanks to 2.5 1.0 with how easy it is to understand is objectively better. When there is balancing issues a lot of it boils down to "Don't allow turreted ships"

Very similar feelings. I opened my Rebel conversion kit and two base sets today and started sorting everything. I have to admit I was apprehensive about investing in 2.0 and I still am.

FFG has become just like GW. Change everything every few years to create a money grab. They did the exact same thing with Descent. NONE of the first edition stuff worked. You needed a CONVERSION KIT! They're on the THIRD EDITION of Runebound for cripes sake! I won't be buying this...I'm switching over to Battlestar Galactica Miniatures Game!

People can buy 1.0 ships for cheap and save a ton of money by getting the conversion kit. It's not all bad. And you can keep playing 1.0 if you don't like 2.0

I bought all 3 kits. I agree with you. Not enough dial for TIE Fighter, and x-wing. Not enough medium bases, tokens. No shields tokens. No damage deck. Too many talent cards. More x-wing title cards than number of dial. Not enough turret pointers. Not enough "number" token to old down the turret. No target lock tokens with the new numbers... And so on...

Dblaster

You also missed that there are no shield tokens in any of the conversation kits

Definitely not looking to move to 2.0... I'm thinking that my collection becomes a nice set of model miniatures on a shelf. Sad but that's the way FFG seems to care if I play or not. :(

wow I would have thought the kits came with enough dials to field a squadron and new ship bases for one of every faction ship released. and i expected some stuff to be sold individually for those massive collections.
