I knew covering this story may cause some arguments in the comment section. The fear of a hostile takeover has nothing to do with what country it comes from, it has to do with forcing the current primary ownership of Nintendo out the door which could cause massive overhaul of who Nintendo is as a company - something most of Nintendo's fans do not want.

Again, as noted in the video, there is likely no such thing occurring at this time and we have nothing to worry about. But most fans do not want Nintendo to be hostile taken over by ANYONE. People fear it with Saudi Arabia merely because they have done this with some of their other investments. This is no different then when fans worried Microsoft would buy Nintendo. Same thing. Nintendo is best as it's own independent entity.

This is a story? It's a publicly traded company, anyone can buy existing shares. Non issue.

There are no arabic translations of any nintendo games, this could be why investments from Saudi are increasing. Plus Nintendo is the most family friendly out of any publishers in terms of branding so ofc a religious country would want to invest. And for anyone whos ignorantly afraid because they are arab or muslim, plz know Saudi is a huge ally to the US and is one the most westernized muslim countries in the world.

I just saw this after practicing an Asia map quiz where Saudi Arabia was one that showed up a lot. I just thought it was a weird coincidence.

So many people jumped on this prematurely and in turn, covered the story in an indecent manner.

Tends to happen when you are making very reactionary reports and looking to get clicks over clarity.

I hope 🤞🏽 Nintendo doesn’t allow them too purchase more. That could lead to a possible hostile takeover.

I wont be surpriced if Saudi Arabia is doing this to spite nintendo for suing Palworld. Lots if company have intrest in palworld and going against nintnedo's wishes on palworld. Nintendo getting bought out is a good thing. For both Palworld and game industry.

I also think there would be significant political resistance in Japan to one of it's biggest cultural exports being bought out by an overseas entity. The regulators there are a lot stricter than the US for example.

What happened to Embracer Group should be a cautionary tale to any company looking to accept investment money from Saudi public investment funds.

Instead of looking at this as a negative, why not try a positive approach? If the Saudis do get more invested in Nintendo, maybe they can invest tall cash in Nintendo to where they can make bleeding-edge hardware that Nintendo doesn't have to pay for so they can still put their gimmicks in there and sell it to us for an affordable price? 🤔😊

There’s no way this happens now, maybe if we were still in the Wii U era I’d be more concerned but we’re not.
