How to Speed Up or Slow Down a Video Clip in Shotcut

Показать описание
Shotcut free video editing makes slow down or speed up video clips pretty easy.
Shotcut has a filter that you can apply to any clip and change the speed.

By default, the speed is set to 1, or the standard speed of the clip. But if you reduce it, it will slow down a video clip and if you increase it past one, it will speed up the video clip.

It's really that simple to speed up or slow down a video clip.

Why is it so hard to find how to just slow down the preview speed in general and not transform the files.

Is there a way to speed up just part of the video?

After fiddling with the "speed" change, I was able to make it work, but it took well over an hour. First, the "properties" option does not seem to work when you create a V2 track to make a clip change; the "properties" option brings up NOTHING . Second, I was able to bring up a "speed" change when the clip is in the V1 track. Yet, even here, when I attempted to slow the clip down (in track V1), though the speed I set was .20, it immediately sped up to near 1.00 as the clip proceeded. One of the huge problems of Shotcut, and it applies to way more than just this speed change issue, is that Shotcut seems to have NO SAVE option for specific tasks. Sometimes you have to bring a clip into V2 and then merge it back in to V1, to "save" the task change. In the case of "speed", even keeping the clip in V1 does not allow me to SAVE the task change. I have encountered these TOTALLY INCONSISTENT TASK PROBLEMS ever since I started using this awful video editor. Once I finish this video (if I ever do), I will NEVER USE SHOTCUT AGAIN.

Is there a way to accelerate to the speed you want and decelerate? So instead of just jumping to 5x you speedup from 1x to 5x over 3 seconds?

I had a 38 minute video that i wanted to speed up to 30 seconds, shotcut just cut the video short while using this method. So i lost the end parts of my video.
