SCAG Cheetah II vs Turf Tiger II

Zach is joined by Jim, our SCAG representative, to discuss the differences between the SCAG Turf Tiger II and Cheetah II!

Like the Comparison of the Turf Tiger and the Cheetah. A bunch of good information. Have a grass cutting business and bought a Cheetah a few years ago. Has been quite the workhorse. No issues with working it to death. Looked at the Turf Tiger and definitely heavy duty. Liked the drive shaft addition. Went with the Cheetah due to the couple thousand dollar difference. Have not regretted it so far. I have 2 zero turns and 6 walk behinds that are all Scag. By far the best commercial mower I have owned with my business. Again, nice comparison.

I have a 2004 turf tiger. These things really are built tough. Since the fuel tank is under the seat, it gives great weight distrubution down low for mowing hill sides. If you keep up with maintenance, these things are damn near bulletproof. One downside I found with the driveshaft is, tall grass can get wrapped around the driveshaft if mowing too quickly. Im talking like 2-4ft high grass. The newer Turf Tigers may have shields to prevent this from happening.

If you are not sure which to get, ask yourself, "What kind of property am I mowing?" If its overgrown fields and hills, Turf Tiger wins. If its flatter open grass fields, Cheetah wins.

I am a huge TT fan, but the truth is- the shaft drive is not a true shaft drive. It is run off two small belts at the rear of the engine that drop down from the crankshaft pulley to the rear of the driveshaft. They can slip just like any belt drive system can.

I bought my 2017 turf tiger brand new, kohler efi, it blew up at a little over 400 hours, just out of warranty they said, so i bought a 2021 tiger cat 2, it broke the frame a little over 300 hours, just at the end of warranty, but i couldn't get the dealers to warranty it, so im welding that together myself, and i picked up some extra steel to build my own scag mower now, there pretty basic design

I really appreciate your videos. But the audio on this one was almost unbearable. Not trying to be mean. Just pointing out that the audio left something to be desired. I'm shopping for a better mower. Thanks for sharing. Might try a finish mower on my little 2601 this season.

That vanguard engine has a huge problem with oil filter backing out just saying if you buy one keep a eye on it. I will say that foot brake is a waste should just be a pull brake but good cutting mower

Absolutely nothing weak or bad about belts, the shaft is there so the deck has greater hight adjustability, also tiger hangs on slopes better
