Socialism Always Fails, Yet Never Dies | Joseph (Jake) Klein

Dr. Kristian Niemietz in his book "Socialism: The Failed Idea That Never Dies" decided to look back in time to see what socialists had to say before the horrors of Communist nations became clear. What did he find? First leftists enthusiastically support the socialist experiment, then they defend it as bad news begins. Finally, only when failure is clear, do they declare it was never “real socialism”.

Calling Walter Duranty a "supporter" of Stain is like calling a rocket ship taking off "loud".

I don't understand what's bad abt capitalism. It's not perfect, but it's as fair as it gets.

Sorry but I missed what was wrong with Cuba and why if it always fails is it such a threat to American Imperialism? Why go to defcon 2 over the Cuban revolution?

What about countries like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Finland who are all in the top ten for GDP spending with comprehensive welfare spending (everyone gets free higher education, free medical services, free eldercare), high percentage unionised labour, collective bargaining, while also being based on the foundations of free market capitalism?

Socialism is just a word. These are policies for the good of the populace. These countries have the US beat across the board in terms of low corruption (US- 19th, Finland and Sweden - 3rd, Norway - 5th).

This isn't science fiction, it's just common sense.

I see the capitalists on here say, “well where will you get the money to pay that”. Bruh, you’re already paying for it yourself but at a higher rate bc the current systems aren’t meant to provide you w the service, they’re meant to create profit.

Only way for you socialists to achieve your pathetic wet dream is if you dehumanize yourself by removing greed, corruption and use basic logic but as we see time and time again, you use emotion, greed and inferior morals in a system that shouldn’t need it.

Capitalism on the other hand is a good balance of morals, humanizing, basic logic - basic logic of the system, if you know the ins and outs of that system you can easily climb your way up to the same level as those billionaires.

All you need is an idea ans motivation which socialism doesn’t promote

Funny how people still don’t realize the meaning of a Social Democracy. The US will still be capitalist, it will still be a democracy, but with more social welfare policies mixed in to help the people. This is why people say “Oh we won’t be like those other countries” and “Those countries weren’t socialist just communist”. The country will remain capitalistic and democratic just with some socialist characteristics. Socialism is a economic concept, democracy is a political one, this is what Bernie and SDA are proposing. Many prospering countries in Europe are like this, keeping the fine balance between government and capitalism.

Hey can’t help but notice you skipped the countries where socialist policies actually work like in Norway and Sweden. They have great social policies AND strong economies. They’ve learned how to bring government and business into balance. We don’t have balance between government and business in the US, right now big business has too much power, that’s what’s drives people towards candidates like Bernie Sanders.

Anarcho-communist here, you're probably thinking of the argument that those countries would not really communist. Communism, is not socialism has never been tried before. You wondering why I'm a communist, that's because I believe that everyone should have the right to own the means of production, but I also believe that everyone should have the right to have their basic needs provided. All of their basic needs provided. They are not.

You don't even know what social umm even means back in the American Revolution England called the US socialist and when they were not socialists they were fighting for Freedom by the American back then prove you don't know what you're talking about
