Best scene in the movie, they cut it. Ana's acting here, while he sings, is absolutely amazing. All those emotions growing, shown just trough her smile, her eyes, without saying anything. She was great. And also Himesh Patel: amazing performance.

This was one of the best scenes in this movie, Ana De Armas looking impressed and smitten while Jack sang was very believable.

So the reason for cutting this scene and Ana De Armas entirely from the movie is because her character was actually supposed to serve as another love interest/wedge between Jack and Ellie and after putting the whole movie together the Director thought it just wasn't right and made Jack more dislikable and took away from the connection/romance between him and Ellie and that it didn't feel like Jack deserved to be with Ellie if he was even thinking about being with anyone else which would've been Anas character.

I wish this scene was kept in the movie. Not only is Anna's acting very convincing of being serenaded by one of the best songs ever written but it really explains Elle starting a relationship with Gavin later on the film. At this point, she feels like Jack just wrote this incredible love song for Roxanne right on the spot and she feels like she has no chance at him and they are in two different worlds. In reality, Jack did not write the song and was put on the spot and it was probably the first song to come to his head in a stressful situation.

Mr Himesh does all his own singing in the movie. Very impressive. He is a natural.
