The stitching looks a good bit wider than my Hien Mid, everything else looks the same though. I wouldn't doubt this is a real Artisan product, it could be that it's an older version, or maybe there's differences in L compared to XL. The way you describe the lack of stopping power does remind me of how my mousepad felt when it was new, but it didn't take long to break in and become smoother.
Edit: The stitching does look way different, much fuzzier and more present on the surface.

I'd just be damn impressed if this was a remake, maybe Mr. Artisan's brother ran away with all of the materials and is making these in a dungeon.

ive ordered two artisan pads from amazon, a classic zero about 5 years ago and an fx hien sometime last year and both were legit. you gotta remember amazon has multiple sellers, so from seller to seller you will have differences between real or fake.

i think it’s just the hien bc all the other ones have good reviews from people who’ve owned artisan bought from the website, the hien was the only one that had complaints about authenticity especially that one dude who still believed it was real after the paint started rubbing off

You should also just see and buy an actual hien cause i've heard that the "hien" underneath the shidenkai its not an actual hien

That pad is not fake dude, their stitching quality legit got worse you are also comparing a coating removed Shidenkai to an actual Hien they both have different stitching

I bought an artisan raiden mid on Amazon and the grip on the bottom is shit and the so called “speed” on the mousepad wasn’t even noticeable for me.

Yeah of course you can buy real Artisan mousepads on Amazon, but the shipping quality can bend the pads and on some pads that's really bad.

I bought my Hien off amazon, its a real pad, the box is exactly the same as the ones directly from artisan, so if this is fake maybe just an outlier?
