Good advice overall, but I wish you would have touched upon how it's hard for new loan officers to afford a LO or Real Estate specific CRM in the beginning. New LOs are probably getting paid very little or not at all because their earnings are solely commission based, so affording an additional monthly overhead of $50-$200/ month for a CRM may not be feasible. However, all LOs DO NEED some type of database to grow and maintain their customer and partnership contact list, AND they MUST be able to do some marketing from that database. Some suggestions for affordable CRMs would have been nice as well as a few ideas on how to grow your contact list for your CRM. You can't just email 1K people as a new loan officer or you may run into anti-spam law issues. Also, it would have been great if you would have shown an example of your newsletter or perhaps mentioned ideas of what to print in the newsletter as newbie LOs. But, again, the advice in general was good as an overview.

Hello! I am a college student and I'm seriously thinking about becoming a MLO. However, I'm having a hard time getting started towards this career. I understand I need to make a NMLS account and prep for the test, but do I need to take a computer class to learn the programs before I get hired or do some companies train you on the spot for the new and unexperienced? Any advice would be helpful! Thank you!
