The 2024 Lexus UX 250h F-Sport AWD Is Hybrid Only Entry-Level Luxury SUV

When you want to get into a brand new #Lexus vehicle, the 2024 #LexusUX250h is the brand's most affordable car in the lineup. It is the only Lexus vehicle built on the same platform as the Toyota Corolla, but the #UX250h gets a lot of upgrades to hide its economy car roots, including a unique #Hybrid only powertrain, giving the #LexusUX the best fuel efficiency in its segment.

You guys make me laugh comparing this to the Toyota or Mazda options. That premium price gets you a much more upscale driving experience and feel. If you're strictly looking at buying a car via a spreadsheet cost analysis, sure this looks overpriced compared to the Toyota options. But if you actually drive any Lexus version it takes about 3 seconds to see why they cost more. That doesn't make one better or worse, but different people have different priorities, and we wouldn't save the money to drive the cheaper Toyota versions personally. As far as the UX250h, it's a pretty close to perfect DD for us. Wife just traded in her Macan Turbo 2 weeks ago on this version in white with red interior and it's been a complete joy so far. Going from 400hp to 181hp took about 10 seconds to adapt to because of you actually drive in the real world, you're accelerating at less than full throttle 99% of the time. Completed a 4 hour round trip in it yesterday and getting up to speed (~85'ish), merging, stability and comfort was all perfectly smooth and without struggle. Even topped her out at 110 to pass a line of cars holding everyone up. Zero delay or lag getting to passing speed, and got home averaging 37mpg on regular fuel. Storage space is tight, but without kids and a CT200h designated for dog duty, this has more than enough space to fit her work bag or do a shopping run. Through the twisty stuff it's actually a blast in Sport+ mode and more fun than my Cayman tbh as the Cayman limits are just too high for road use. ASC sounds cheesy in theory, but adds a fun lighted hearted sound that makes pushing it through the corners even more enjoyable.

It's not perfect, especially with how Lexus forces you into buying the F Sport Handling option to get even the most basic comfort features. No memory seats, no auto dimming interior or exterior mirrors and several other things I can't recall in any of the other 3 trim levels. Absolutely infuriating that memory seats isn't standard and you have to move up to the $45k trim level for that. Also miss the 360⁰ around view camera and active headlights that rotate into the corner. But outside of those things it's honestly a pure joy to drive without the constant expensive headaches of the German cars. Sure. The Macan was nicer inside. But the window sticker on that was $99k. For $47k, I think this is a wonderful car and more than what most people honestly need. But you do. 😂

I bought a brand new 2023 F Sport Handling in January with every option, and I love it!!

I just picked this vehicle up for my wife for her 60-mile R/T commute to/from work. Got a good deal on a 2023 Premium trim CPO dealer loaner with 8k miles and paid 34k. She loves it and is surprisingly fun to drive and she’s averaging 41mpg. No, its no speed demon, but that is not what one buys this car for. The electric motor does help with smooth off the line power.

An incandescent bulb on a near $50k luxury vehicle. What?

Thanks for the review and also for the Corolla Cross Hybrid Review, coming from the 2012 CT200H Premium I am really toeing the line and debating between 2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid HSE and 2025 UX 300H. Really a win-win upgrade depending what the trade offs I'm willing to accept. Love how you mentioned Corolla Cross several times as comparison.

I like the "premium" hatchback. Great for urban empty-nesters. F-sport seems like a waste on this vehicle. Premium trim is where it comes in as a value. But, it would be great if they had the prius hybrid system in it.

Goodnight😂, these comments are toxic. Just a heads up I'm buying this vehicle to add to my Lexus Family. I'm buying it for the mpg, styling, Lexury, and compact design. Which some really appreciate in congested traffic. I've driven it multiple times as a loaner from the dealership and loved it. Why does every car have to be fast as hell and updated twice a week!? 😅😅 Nothing will last that way.

Great review redline, still quality reviews 👏👏👍👍

They have got to find a way to get a better powertrain into this thing

The UX is a car I want to like, but it has been passed by time. 10 years ago, its power train and style were nice but today it is grossly out of date. highway mileage of 38 and 0-60 of 8.1 seconds is just not competitive. Lexus needs to toss the Toyota Rav4 prime power train into this vehicle to get the mileage and performance that is expected of a 50K vehicle. I drove this vehicle and it simply isn't worth 50k. The interior quality is OK but doesn't compare to a Volvo S60. Its handling and performance is more like a chevy trax than a luxury vehicle.

Great choice. Everything a person needs for intra and inter-city driving.

There's a ghost of Sofyan at 1:01 . That was a cool effect.

It's high time for a new generation with more space and powertrain options. Lexus has fallen short in the class for way too long already.

I ordered the CC XSE and after waiting a year decided to get a 2023 UX instead. It was about the same price. We actually were able to negotiate the price down which I wasn't expecting. I suspect they were trying to clear inventory for the 2025 300UXh. Other than the small trunk and less power than the CCX, the ride, features and noise level are amazing. Only been driving for a short time but feeling pretty good about the decision. I get about 43MPG on my drive to work, which is city and highway driving, in warm weather and about 38 in cold weather so far.

With this price range, I would go with the Toyota Rav4 xse hybrid with fully load options, better looking, more room and cargo space.
