I was a nurse in a burn unit for many years. I have to caution you about having an open flame in a vehicle. I understand you're in a challenging situation. Please just take extra extra extra precaution to keep flammables away from the flames.... your hair, your puffer jacket, your bedding are all flammable, and could ignite your car quickly. We'd get a LOT of patients living in tents and vehicles that were badly burned from fires relating to cooking and heating, or using candles for decor.

I lived in my car for 4 months back in 2018. It was absolutely exhausting. I slept in the front with the seat down. I would wash my face and fix my hair in McDonald’s washrooms and leave for work in the morning. Couple times a week I would shower at truck stops. After those 4 months I saved enough to secure a place to live. All of us have our reasons for having to resort to living in cars. To anyone reading this.. hang in there. Don’t give up. Do what you need to do to survive.

I have had to live in my car for 6 months. It was hard and depressing but there was a homeless lady that slept on a bench outside of biglots. I thanked god every day that I at least had a car.

Im a really old grandma and grew up not evening knowing such adventures were out their waiting for me. Best advice for young adults today would be to get out there, try everything once and you’ll know if you had a great time or if you’ll never do it again .. but at least you can say “I did that” I went there” “i sat in a hot spring in the middle of winter”. This girl has guts and I love her sense of adventure, and she will succeed in every way because she’s not scared of trying and stepping out of her comfort zone .

Hi Rosa, to keep warm when it’s that cold. Get a large water bottle (Not the insulated ones) filled it up with hot water, put it in a sock 🧦 then wrapped it in an extra warm jacket if you have one. Put it between your thighs when you are laying in your sleeping bag. Make sure you put it in a sock and then wrap it in a jacket so you don’t burn yourself. It will keep you warm for the entire night, with your body heat and the bottle of hot water between your thighs. You’d be warm, and comfortable throughout the night. I hike a lot in cold weather, so I know that works.

From my personal experience, being homeless and living out of your car is so much better than resorting to living with someone or a place that will suck the living soul and finances out of you. I’m so proud of you, girl. You got this, I know you’ll make it, wherever you’re headed.

I’m literally in tears watching this, this is so beautiful and looks so peaceful. I wish I was this adventurous and wasn’t so scared to get out there and try new things. My life is passing me by and I have yet to do anything exciting due to me living in fear.

Living in your car is going to became a norm because of rents going up up and up

@Rosa a cheap way to keep your car warm is to get an auto start system. Most stereo installation shops carry them. It comes with a key fob that'll work just like your current fob, except you can start the engine from up to 300 yards away. You wouldn't need to get out of your sleeping bags.

You are stronger than I am! I have a fully insulated van with a propane heater and I struggle sometimes at 0 degrees, you've got some grit. I've never been to a hot spring before, but after seeing your videos it's definitely a goal of mine now.

You need one of those heated jackets that are battery operated . My husband has one, he absolutely loves it! He stays nice and toasty warm ❤

How i survived for six years in a van, i would lay a blanket over my sheet and pillow so I could rap it around my head, in the morning i would dry my windows with toilet paper and throw it away and before bed dry the windows again make a hot water bottle always cook outside to keep moisture outside

I love the fact that some people are heading to warmer weather and you are still hanging out in the mountains. You’re a beast and I LOVE you and crunchy snow. ❤

So glad I found your channel. I’m in my 30s, so bored with my current life, craving adventure, and regretting not taking more chances in my younger years. Your videos inspire me to start adventuring more before it’s too late. Can’t wait to see more!!! ☺️

When I car camped in Vermont I used a heated blanket with a car jack. I let it heat up to the hottest level and layered it between my sleeping bag and big blanket before unplugging and shutting off my car. It stayed warm for a really long time!

I lived in my SUV for 10 months. I’m Canadian winter at -50 Celsius windchill. I made enough money daily to run my SUV 24 hours a day, so warmth wasn’t an issue. I even managed to eat well. Some days I miss simply living.

As someone who needs to pee at least 3 times during the night, I could never.
